Quick Release Base for Marlin 1895 45-70

by MIKE WHIFFEN, from United States, OH Written on December 9, 2014
Leupold makes the best products. Fits my new Marlin 1895 45-70 perfect. Used with Leupold med height rings on a Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4x32 scope. Optic Planet sales person helped me with this order and spent a lot of time with me to get it right. Thanks Optic planet for a job well done....

Greatest mounts since "sliced bread". Love these mounts and have them on other guns I own. They are easy to install and allow you to remove the scope for easier cleaning and reinstall scope with no loss of accuracy....
Pros:
  • Easy to inslall
Cons:
  • None.

No complaints

by jake, from United States, TX Written on October 29, 2014
Leupold QR base fits good on my model 70. Solid feel with the QR top rings.
No complaints. I haven't tried taking the scope off and putting it back on to see if it will live up to the claim of holding zero....

Leupold Quick Release 2 PC Base Sako Silver

by wp, from United States, NV Written on October 12, 2014
I have these installed on my Sako Kodiak .375 H&H and have been very pleased with their performance. I have field tested them on several hunting trips in Alaska and they have proved to be rugged and dependable. The quick release design gives the user flexibility. Having the ability to take magnified optics off to allow the use of iron sights is a nice option to have when walking through heavy brush. They are solid, easy to manipulate when taking your scope on and off, and have held zero. I highly recommend them....

Last time I buy Leupold

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 10, 2014
Leupold made a change in diameter of ring posts which fit into quick release base. They now have two generations of parts, which will not cross mate. Leupod did not caution dealers or Optics Planet did not heed. I've been trying to get replacement parts for nearly a month and of errors in shipping and "in house" I've been frustrated again and again. No parts. What has happened to Leupold? Sad
Pros: none
Cons: Leupold Components -Ring to Base- do not fit together....

Leupold QR 2 Piece

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on November 12, 2013
I purchased the base for a WIN model 70 in 338 WIN MAG. Since the rifle has iron sights and the scope I was mounting would travel better in a separate case, it was important to retain the range sighting even after the scope had been removed and reinstalled. And the mount bade, rings and system did just that after being sighted in at 200 yards.
Pros: Manufacturers Specs and Statements
Cons: None worth mentioning...

Win 70 Post 64 or Long action?

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on October 2, 2013
Purchased the base mounts for a model 70 post 64 express rifle but rear sight screw spacing did not align. Had to purchase 50069 for model 70 long action. Luckily I have another rifle to install on. Leupold has specs for all items, except screw spacing of scope bases, had to contact leupold directly.
Pros: Easy to install, maintains manufacturers specs
Cons: Manufacturer application data mis-leading...

Did what I needed it to do, just a little harder to get attached than expected (probably operator headspace and timing issue)....
