I used this rangefinder on a dall sheep hunt in Alaska where extreme shot angles can effect your true ballistic range. In this sense, this model really shines. It is very fast to acquire ranges, tells you the angle, the distance, and the actual flat line distance as related to the angle of shot. I heard some trash talking by the guides towards these Leupold rangefinders. But I believe they were wrong. Guides always think they are de facto knowledge kings anyways. i liked this unit. Its optics are very good. And it is really fast. It has a lot of features too. In fact, a lot of these features were a little confusing. I just liked using it in a basic made where it gives you the angle and angled range. In that regard, I recommend this to others. I cannot comment on all the other options it has (like ballistic variables for certain cartridge ranges). It is very small and very lightweight. I have a Swarovski rangefinder too. I love the Swaro. But it is big and heavy. Sometimes that helps when you are a little shaky as the extra weight helps steady your aim. But if you need to shave some weight and size, this Leupold is great. This unit would also be very highly recommended to bowhunters. It has an archery mode for up-close ranges where, if you are in a treestand, would be particularly useful. All-in-all I like this unit. I will continue to use it when hunting in the steeps. On that note, I did a lot of testing with the unit when I was hunting. It was interesting to see how little the angle affected the true ballistic range if the angle was acute. Unless your angle is quite steep, distance to target and flat line distance really are not that different if you are not shooting at long distances (<200 yds). Just an observation....
