Purchased the leupold standard 1 piece base and rings for my marlin 336.The mount is rock solid no worries of the scope ever moving.Easy set up and the price from Optic Planet was the cheapest and I did a lot of price comparison.Overall was very happy with the purchase and the excellent service from Optic Planet.

Two minor quibbles: first, the rearmost counterbore for a mount screw was in a thinner section of the mount, so the screw itself was too long and had to be filed down. Second, the supplied Torx wrench was cheaply made, and a VERY loose fit in the socket - I used my own Torx driver, which fit properly.

The one-piece base from Leupold is very strong and easy to mount. If you can use a one-piece instead of a two-piece base I think you will get a slightly more rigid scope mount and trust in your set-up. Leopold machining and finishes are great.
