great scope

by vabeachman, from United States, VA Written on August 30, 2014
great optics, clear edge to edge, lightweight, perfect for my ruger American 7mm-08. I mounted to rifle using Leupold rifleman rings. I used to other brands of scopes, but after getting my first Leupold and seeing how much better it is than the competition I will be buying more....

Best General Use AR Scope

by jscore, from United States, NE Written on August 29, 2014
A little pricey, but it's a Leupold. Scopes are one of the few things in life where you ACTUALLY get what you pay for. I mounted this on an Armalite 20" .308 AR. After using it for about a month or so, I wish I had bought this scope for my 5.56 as well. MUCH more utility than my 1x4 Leupold while maintaining the same size as a 1x4 and avoiding the bulk and length of a 3x9. Outstanding scope, and I cannot understand why you don't see more of these. Not only would I buy this scope again, but plan on it....
Pros:
  • Price
  • Size
  • Weight
  • Short and Long Range Capability
Cons:
  • A liiiiiiiitle pricey for a 2x7, but it's a Leupold. Lifetime warranty. Done.
Best Used for:
  • anything

costly ,but sound quality in compact scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NM Written on June 17, 2012
Great for compact and light weight....magnification range quite useful for 22 Hornet, on Ruger 77/22. Balances well on rifle. Excellent sight picture w/standard duplex reticle. But lack of finger controls on turrets ,and optics that do not match several other brands(like Nikon) in $300+ price range prevent a 5 rating.
Pros: 2-7x power range; light and compact;
Cons: no finger controls for windage, elev. ; eye relief ave....

Leupold VX-2 Ultralight 2-7x28mm Rifle Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on May 19, 2012
Good clarity including at edge of field of view.
Magnification range, FOV, and compact size just right match for light .22 Hornet varmint/turkey rifle I mounted it on.
The only thing I would have liked that wasnt available on this sight was a choice of reticles, which Leupold doesnt yet offer on this model.
Still, the standard duplex reticle is a good choice.

Pros: Clarity, magnification, size, weight
Cons: Only one reticle available...

Leupold VX-II 2-7x28mm Ultralight Rifle Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on August 7, 2010
Works great on my Marlin 1894 rifle. Compact and does not overpower the lines of the gun. 28mm size allowed me to mount it on low rings and still clear the factory iron sights.
Pros: High quality, compact
Cons: none...

Leupold Ultralight 2-7X28 LR Reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 8, 2010
Great scope for the $$$. I bought it for my M77 RSI and wanted a compact and light scope. This fits the bill. My only complaint is, I wish Leupold made this in a VXIII. The quality and finish is great on this scope and has me questioning the need for a VXIII..
Pros: light & I like the LR Reticle
Cons: none...

Sure it was a lot to spend to use on a kid's .22....

So I'm a new grandpa and bought the 4 year old a Stevens Cadet .22 Rifle
( $165.00).
Now what do you choose for a scope that will last the rest of my life and then his ?
Leupold was a great start...
I picked this version over the rimfire series so that he could eventually use it on larger calibers if he takes to this shooting stuff.
And hell, if he doesn't then I'll add a wonderful little scope to my inventory.
BE SAFE and HAVE FUN !

P.S. This combo works so well that at 50 yards it competes with my Kimber with a Swarovski !
Pros: Crisp, clear, low profile, light, well made
Cons: Focus control extremely stiff out of the box, cost....
