VX I 1-4x20mm heavy duplex

by Mike, from United States, GA Written on September 6, 2014
Excellent product. Mounted on 45/70 Marlin. Long eye relief, quick target acquisition, clear and bright optics, accurate adjustments, holds zero with heavy recoil. Good value and perfect scope for Marlin Guide Gun....

Excellent Optic and well worth the money.

by W.R.Buchanan, from United States, CA Written on September 4, 2014
I bought this scope specifically to install on a Beeman R1 Spring Powered Air Rifle. It was $219 with Free shipping. Good Deal! Got Leupold quality at a bargain price.

These airguns are noted for being scope killers and the previous scope, a Leapers 1-4X which had survived 5+ years and 1500 + rounds on a Mini14 with no change in zero, was killed in less than 100 rounds on the R1. Note: this is a $700 gun.

I called Leupold and specifically asked if this scope was airgun rated? They said yes all Leupold scopes are airgun rated. They asked which air gun? to wit they said yes that is the worst one and that the bidirectional recoil of an airgun was planned into all Leupold Scopes internal design.

Also they reminded me of the lifetime warrantee if anything did go wrong.

I don't expect to ever need it. I am 200+ rounds into this scope with no shift in zero.

I have a Leupold VX3 1-5x which has been mounted on a .416 Rigby, a Ruger Gunsite Scout.308, and a Ruger Guide Gun in .30-06. It was $400 new, but I can't see any difference in the optic quality of the two optics.

These scopes are good value and entirely appropriate on an AR or Hunting Rifle where the distances you typically will shoot are below 300 yards. IE 4X. The duplex Crosshair is a little course for my tastes but I can still shoot the head off a ground squirrel at 50 yards no problem....
Pros:
  • excellent quality and value.

Excellent turkey hunting scope

A friend talked me into getting a scope for my turkey gun so I automatically looked at leupold and found this scope and placed the order... Awesome scope... clear, bright and compact = perfect for a turkey gun. The extended eye relief is great when shooting those 3.5 shotshells....

Too Thin Reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AZ Written on December 10, 2012
The idea of this reticle is great, however, at age 73 I found the reticle too thin for quick target access. The scope is small, very light, and has typical Leupold excellence otherwise.
Pros: Small, light, and Incredible Leupold
Cons: Reticle too thin/narrow against darker background...
