leupold vx-6 3X18 ILLUMINATED BDL DIAL

by john, from United States, PA Written on September 10, 2014
I MOUNTED THIS SCOPE ON A NEW CUSTOM 30-06 RIFLE I HAD MADE FOR LONG RANGE SHOOTING. THIS IS THE SIXTH LEUPOLD I CURRENTLY OWN AND BY FAR THE CLEARIST. SO FAR I AM VERY PLEASED. I WENT WITH LEUPOLD BECAUSE I LOVE THEIR NEW CDS DIAL SYSTEM AND HAD TWO OF MY VAR-X III SWITCHED OVER TO IT. ALSO BECAUSE IT MUCH LIGHTER THAN NIGHTFORCE SCOPES AND OFFER MORE THAN SWAROVSKI DOES IN IT PRICE RANGE....
Pros:
  • Clear sharp views

  • None

Usefull all around scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on June 2, 2014

I swore off buying Leupold Scopes after a bad episode with one of their VX-6 34mm tube scopes. (Horrible Quality control) This scope gave them somewhat of a reprieve but they still need to up their quality control and get a handle on the outrageous pricing. That said, the 3-18 power range adds to the versatility of the 338 Win. Mag. I have it mounted on. My other concern(Not only with Leupold)is the cheap matte finish that is being applied to scopes today.
Pros: 30mm tube with 3-18 power
Cons: Poor quality light switch / Leupold pricing policies...

Incredible at any Distance!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AZ Written on December 8, 2013
I'm one of those guys who does all his research before making a buy like this. I purchased my first piston M6A2 SBR for just under $3K; so I wanted to make sure my optics were as good as the firearm. I had originally ordered the Swarovski Z6 Scope with the identical range of magnification, but sent it back due to a misrepresentation on their part. I am so glad I did! I picked up this Great Scope for over a thousand less; and its clarity is just as good, range, and ease of use, made it a far better buy than the Z6. And, made in the USA! From short, mid, or longer range this scope outshines them all.The one I bought has the Boone and Crockett reticle which is similar to a Mil Dot, but uses cross hairs instead of dots. The CDS is a real bonus, but the reticle enables me to acquire target acquisition without taking my eyes away the scope. This Leupold VX-6 is one of the finest scopes you can find at any price, period! If you put a few thousand bucks into your rifle, don't be foolish and think a scope for a few hundred bucks will do.By the time you are on your third scope, my Leupold will still be doing just fine. Leupold made this superb scope with one thing in mindQuality, Precision and State of the Art Technology, made for an AR. I researched every scope on the market, but Leupold's VX-6 3-18X44mm is the finest of them all! And I never mentioned the fantastic illumination, but by now you get my point. This is one scope I highly recommend!
Pros: Superb Glass from Center to Edge, G...

Sets the new standard in high end optics

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on August 27, 2013
A new standard has been set in hunting optics. Easily passes my European scope costing 2-3 times as much money. No longer do you have to choose between a stalking scope or long range scope. The clarity from 3 power up to 18 power is crystal clear with long eye relief and from edge to edge of field of view. Firedot is just awesome in low light. A major advantage for bear hunting. The versatility and build quality makes the VX6 a bargain. This has got to be Leupold's most impressive scope ever built. Its really that good.
Pros: Build quality, optic quality, versatility, features....

Outstanding scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 27, 2013
This has to be one of the finest scopes in the world. Very clear in all light conditions. When little light is available the illumination feature really works great and helps for shooting in very little light. The CDS feature is a bonus. I'm very happy with this scope....

Leupold Arrives

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MS Written on June 7, 2013
I own three Swarvoski scopes including two Z3s and One Z6. This Leupold VX-6 Surpasses the Z3 and is about the same as the Z6; however, the Leupold cost about a thousand dollars less than the Z6.
Pros: Eye box, clarity, solid feel, illuminated reticle
Cons: None...

very impressed

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on April 12, 2013
This scope is amazing. Very clear at all power settings, pretty light weight, good eye relief. They are expensive, but when you hold up to comparable scopes it is actually priced lower. In my opinion, this is the same level as a Swarovski Z5, but for $500 less and easy access for warranty work should the need arise.
Pros: very clear at all power ranges, very high quality
Cons: none I can think of...
