A great mid-magnification objective for darkfield

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on February 11, 2011
This is a wonderful, high NA objective with excellent image characteristic and a nice, wide field for darkfield and brightfield work. It's an excellent buy and though it's not as sharp as my oil/iris Zeiss and Leitz objectives, it represents a great value for the price. The folks at OpticsPlanet are great to work with, which is a real plus!
Pros: Silky iris, high NA, good image
Cons: Contrast is excellent, but not as good as Zeiss or Leitz...

Table Stand For LOMO Microscopes

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on October 3, 2010
Several years ago I purchased a LOMO trinocular which was mounted on a moveable arm that clamps to any table. I had been looking for a stand, and discovered that although the stand is not listed on the Optics Planet web site, they can order it for you. I like it because it is much handier than using the clamped arm all the time, and it is very well made, and a great value for the money. It adds another level of versatility to this very well made microscope.
Pros: Sturdy and well made; Good value
Cons: Base of stand could be slightly wider...
