Its not the price of life, rather value is what counts.

I have been a long time hunter and a very avid shooter, I like to get out as much as possible I have been comp shooting for more than 20 years. As you can imagine I have been through my share of scopes, rifles, and handguns. I have used a variety of scopes in the past, when I started shooting there was a limited amount of scopes on the market that performed good at a reasonable price . Today that has all changed with knowledge better applied, to make products of great quality at an affordable price. It is not always the price you pay for a rifle or handgun or the price you pay for the the optics rather it is the performance of the operator. In most cases I have found this to be true, I myself am a living testimony of mistakes. I was looking for a new scope for my 270 wsm Browning Xbolt I just purchased, I came across the Lucid L5 6-24x50 a little skeptical I gave Lucid a call and spoke with a gentleman about the scope production he was vary patient and answered all my questions , he even went as far as to offer me the free use of one of there scopes to test it , I immediately thought to my self wow he has a lot of confidence in there product but was not a snob about it, it put me to mind that if he was willing to let me use one for a while then he was confident that it would perform , try getting that from any other company. I made my purchase of the Lucid scope being it had the adjustments I needed and that they were confident it would perform good. ( I did not use the f...

L5 Rifle Scope

The latest iteration of this scope does not look like the image on this website or even the manufacturer's website. The machined knurling on the adjustment knobs as well as the eye piece have been replaced by molded rubber inserts. Still a great scope but if part of what turned you on to it was its looks then be forewarned.
Pros: Value
Cons: Item shown is not exactly what you will receive....

L5 Review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on July 24, 2013
If used for hunting you have to click twice as many times compared to a 1/4 MOA
and is time consuming. If you are a target shooter then the 1/8 MOA is fine.
Wish the objective diameter was less than 50 in order to use a lower scope mount. Like the reticle for hold overs.
Pros: cost
Cons: 1/8 MOA for hunting. Objective diameter...

.308 scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on February 3, 2013
All though I have only shot about 40 round through my new .308 rifle with this scope, It sited in very easy. I was hitting on the outer edge of the target from the box at 50 yards and center in about 6 shots. Moved to 100 yards to zero in. In about 8 shots I was grouping with in 1.5 center target.
Pros: price, accuracy and ease
Cons: Not sure yet, site get fuzzy at full power,...

Amazing scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AZ Written on January 1, 2013
I was looking for a good medium to long range scope for my AR-10, and was ready to spend around $1,000. I have some great German and US glass and had previously only used Leupold, Zeiss, Trijicon and US Optics.
While I realized that this $400 scope would not take the place of the $1,500-2,500 glass, since I had previously been amazed by their $200 HD-7 Red dot I threw on my Kriss Vector, so I figured I would give this a try. Well, I sighted it in at 100 yards in about 5 minutes, and have used it for 3 months now at up to 450 yards with amazing repeatability, very good clarity and brightness.
My AR fell over on concrete, scope side down, but other than a minor scratch, nothing was affected.
So, in summary, I would simply say that if this company has something that fits your budget and requirements, please give it a try. I would recommend looking for a longer, in-depth review if you want more info, but on a high level, I would simply say that Lucid is trying to give 95% of the quality of the best scopes at about 30% of the price.
The only things I cannot yet speak for are (1) how well it will last, and (2) if it will stay sighted in for periods longer than the several months of use I have used it for so far.
Pros: quality of glass, stability and repeatability
Cons: new to market...
