Most Helpful Positive Review mako mag well grip
works really good, BUT please be aware that if you have a S&W MP15 or 15-22, there will be a lot of shaving to do. I already have one on my M&P15 BUT ...

Not usable

by JD, from United States, CA Written on November 13, 2014
I purchased this item for a Ruger SR556 and the fit was terrible. Once it was assembled it put so much pressure on the magazine slot that the magazine would not eject. This item is not usable for this Ruger model. With that said, I thought the quality of the product was good and I assume would fit properly on a Colt AR and be very useful....

restricted release

by toddzilla, from United States, CA Written on November 4, 2014
I happen to be blessed with the 10 round California limits. This product has a tendency to be snug with pmag gen 3 ( my fav) . However looser with the ultimag. Go figure. With a little mod at the base (sanding down) maybe no problem. If you have 30 rounders no problem. Im opting for the ranger plates as i really do prefer the pmag gen3. Extracting the 10 round mags in my brand new s&w 15 with this becomes an issue! Looks, fits, nice.just needs room for a clear mag drop!...

Not EXACTLY what I was expecting...

by golfersa, from United States, TX Written on September 6, 2014
I was expecting this to be more of an overmolded, grip similar to Hogue, etc... not sure if it's polymer, or just hard plastic. Like many others, I will need to Dremel out the back corners to get the small end (by the trigger guard) to close, it's got about a 1/8" gap right now on my Colt AR6720. When I do piece it on I like the feel of using the mag well for support when carrying, and close quarters... and it does add a little more of an aggressive look to it, as if an AR needed to look more aggressive. I still haven't decided whether I'm keeping and modifying it to fit, or returning and going with something else... I checked "Yes" as a recommendation only because it is well made, and they didn't have....

Mako MWG

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on October 29, 2013
I bought two of the Mako Mag Well Grip units. One for my Windham AR-15 and one for my Colt M-4 22 cal. Neither MWG fit either gun. Had to greatly modify the first one to fit the Windham and then modified it again to get the mag to go in and out. Started modifying and grinding material away to get the grip to fit my Colt M4 22 cal and finally threw it away. Do not buy unless Mako gets their act together and makes a grip that will fit as suggested on the package and by their retailers.
Pros: None
Cons: Would not fit Windham AR-15 or Colt M4 ...

Mako Group Magazine Well Grip for AR 15/M4/M16 - Black

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on May 6, 2013
The Mako Group Magazine Well Grip for AR 15/M4/M16 - Black -is a great addition to your AR for adding stability and control of your weapon especially in close quarters combat situations and training. Plenty of thought went into this grip as evidenced by the molded slot that allows the serial number to be viewed.
It fit my Colt like a glove and looks great! I like it so much that I removed the forearm grip!

Pros: Price, Fit and Appearance.

Won't drop

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 8, 2013
When I removed enough material to let the mags drop free when released I found that the rear fixing nut was no longer captured and could not be used. However it still is usable like that.
Pros: Needed alot of fitting, mags won't drop
Cons: inexpensive...

If you want to hold your mag well, it's awesome. If you don't want to hold your mag well, it sucks....
