Good sight bad mount

by Rainman, from United States, TX Written on September 29, 2014
Great sight with a poor mount adjustment system. The sight is phenomenal, and it's on top of an exposed adjustment system based on moving the whole sight to adtst POI. I understand, but don't want that dust trap on my rifle. Love the optics/electronics...

Meprolight M21 Reflex Sight

by Ultracow, from United States, FL Written on August 1, 2014
I purchased the M21 with the Triangle Reticle for use on a Tavor 16" rifle. The M21 is a natural choice for the Tavor, so that certainly influenced my purchase, but I had an even more compelling reason behind my decision. I loved the idea of not having to worry about turning the unit on when seconds may count for home defense. I also loved the fact that there were no electronics to fail. After using an EOTech EXPS3-0 for years (which has a fairly limited battery life and shuts itself down after 4 to 8 hours) the idea of something that was always on and always ready for use was very appealing to me. The last factor that influenced my purchase was cost. The M21 was already more reasonable than the EOTech EXPS3-0 and certainly more reasonable than the over priced (in my opinion) AimPoint CompM4 (which was the other optic that I was considering). Combine the already low price with an Optic's Planet sale and a 10% coupon, and it was an unbeatable value.

Once I had the opportunity to spend some time with the M21, I came to a few conclusions. My overall opinion was that it was a very nice optic in most conditions. In bright outdoor light the fiber optics really took in the light and illuminated the reticle wonderfully. It was a pleasure to use the M21 outdoors in bright light. I also had concerns about the bluish tint of the sight, but I actually found it to be nice outdoors. Indoors with both eyes open I found that the blue tint did make the view through the sight a little dim, ...

Great sight

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 1, 2013
This is a great sight! It is built like a tank and has a great quick release. The diamond reticle is clear when outside or in the dark. It does have a bit of washout when looking out of a window from inside a darker room. Not sure how often I will shoot out of a darkened room but it could happen. Above all, I like the fact that this site does not use batteries.
Pros: Durable, like the quick release, no batteries!
Cons: Just a bit of reticle wash out...

Easy set up. Solid and convenient quick detach mount. So far no problems with picking up the triangle. I wear glasses and still no problems.
Pros: Easy set up, great eye relief

Mepro M21 Nice site but fuzzy reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on September 5, 2013
I mounted the m21 on my Tavor bullpup rifle. I like the sight. It is easy to mount and zero, but the triangle reticle is not clear. It is fuzzy, almost like I am seeing double.

It is still usable but I am wondering if others have the same issue or if my sight is not quite right?
Pros: Easy to mount and Zero, no batteries
Cons: Fuzzy triangle reticle...

mako group mepro 21 1 moa

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 5, 2012
Last winter in Minnesota I decided to see which HWS would work with older eyes and way sub-freezing temps on a PLR-16. Well, the older eyes worked better than most of the halographic weapon sights because the eyes stayed active while batteries went numb! The Mepro 21 with the 1 moa dot is accurate enough that at 50 yards bowling pins are dead wood and they are dispatched very quickly. The Eotech 517 went back on the AR-15 because the AR's BUIS serves well. The problem these old eyes have with the Kel-Tec sights is they just didn't work well for me.
This Israeli sight works fine.
Pros: Always ready
Cons: None...

Death to batteries!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on May 24, 2012
I just got this, and I already like it better than my Eotech. No batteries, built in qd mounts, built like a tank. When there is sunlight, the reticle is bright, very bright. It is dimmer indoors during the day, but still pleasant and clear. The only time it seems to wash out on me is looking across a dark room through a bright window, or into a light source. Something I would have had to either deploy BUIS for or stop and adjust the eotech in the past. (BUIS is faster than adjusting)
Pros: No freakin' batteries, qd mounts
Cons: Reticle is dim in certain specific situations...
