For $150 you'd expect a lot more!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 15, 2014
Just like the title says, for $150 for a grip/bipod, you'd expect to get a little better quality. First, the light well, not just any 1" bezel light will work in this unit. The flashlight has to be molded on the handle JUST RIGHT in order for it to slide all the way for the buttons to meet for powering it on once installed. Only one I found that worked was Mako's... imagine that. Second, whether in the grip or bipod state, where the two legs split apart at the hinge, there is play. When I say play, I mean the grip wobbles back and forth a good 1/4". I don't know about you but that just bugged the $&*^&# out of me. Hey, if you're not anal and you can live with that, that's all you, but I want something solid.. something I feel like I am getting my $'s worth. And lastly, 2 hands... it takes two hands to retrieve the legs back into the grip when coming out of a prone position. PITA if you ask me, but I am just one man and this is just one man's opinion. Disliked it so much, I sent it back.. and ordered the Simpson Bipod.. and was the best upgrade decision I have made on this expensive build I am completing. I should have done more research before making this purchase and went with the SBP first. I would have saved a 2 months of waiting for RMA's to be processed and exchanges to be made.
Cons: not deep enough light well, play in hinge, 2 hands needed set legs back into grip...

MAKO Foregrip/Bipod/Flashlight Adapter

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on May 3, 2013
This thing is incredible. I wanted an all encompassing unit for the foregrip/bipod/flashlight and wanted it to be a solid and sturdy. I got everything I wanted in this MAKO unit. The device switches back and forth from grip to bipod in a second and can be reverted right back just as quick. The unit also isn't hard on the eyes and looks great on my ar15. The only possible drawback is that there is a wobble in the bipod, but is easily controllable. I would highly recommend this product.
Pros: All in one combination
Cons: Slight wobble in bipod mode...
