Maxpedition Fatboy

by TS, from United States, KY Written on August 30, 2014
Excellent choice for EDC. Superb design and quality of construction. Big enough for all the items needed for an immediate "issue", small enough to be carried easily. I do not think a better product for this purpose is available. Co;or options include any that you could possibly want. Could be the "man purse" that does not look like one and is much more functional....

Maxpedition Fatboy Versipack Shoulder Bag

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on July 12, 2013
This is my third Maxpedition Shoulder Bag. This is the smallest. I use all with mostly Maxpedition and the 5.11 concealed holsters. Good materials and construction and worth the cost. I expect that this will become my everyday carry item, because of size and weight.
Pros: Light, Compact, and combined with the single strap imake it convient for frequently picking it up.
Cons: Concealed weapon compartment not quite large enough for 1911, but plenty of room for compact handguns...

Fatboy not as fat as I thought

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 23, 2013
I'd probably be a lot happier with the pack if it was bigger... The pistol takes up about half the available space, so it's just not as big as it looks. Probably should have gone a size larger. Other than my own pre-mis-conceptions, the waist strap is not very comfortable.. not sure if maybe padding or elastic at the joint or something would make it better.. That's really my only design complaint.

Otherwise, it meets expectations for construction, design, aesthetics, etc.. just know that it'll probably be smallter
Pros: Seems durable, like the colors, modular, nice shoulder pad
Cons: Smaller than I thought, waist strap is not comfortable...

Excellant Product

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MA Written on August 30, 2012
I have added to the Fatboy as I tailored it for my use. The weight distribution is very good with a loaded bag.
Pros: Good for concealed carry of compact 9mm, lots of other good features.
Cons: Fabric is really stiff when you first get it, Softesn a little with use....

Great everyday bag

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 11, 2012
I really like this bag, It holds my gun well and conceals it very well. There are several cons though. Cell phone pouch is useless unless you carry an old cell phone. Most folks I know don't. Key Clip holder should be on front portion of shoulder strap, it's not. I carry my Fenix light on here as well and use the holding system on the back side. This should also be on the front of the pack. The waist strap is useless. It's too thin, too short and what I watched online had the loop on the back of the pack. I guess that was for the larger pack. They should incorporate this on the Fatboy as well. They also need to make the hand loop slightly larger and put a grip wrap on it. It doesn't seem sufficient enough. With the above said, I still use the Fatboy everyday. I even got second looks at the range and was asked where I got it. As I wear shorts a lot, this is a great alternative to my IWB holster because regardless of how much I tighten my belt, I'm always adjusting. All in all, this pack should be valued at about $60.00.
Pros: Great everyday bag for conceal carry
Cons: Should pad does not always stay in place, cell phone pocket is useless, belt strap is useless...

I love this bag. It's the perfect size for a day of site-seeing. Adjust it to fit and it is very comfortable to wear. All of the pockets are easily accessible too. And I even like the color...khaki & foliage.
