Pros: Rugged/well-made, versatility, storage planning, payload, looks really cool
Cons: zipper/tab/strap configuration on main zipper panel, not much else
Would recommend: yes

I get a ton of compliments on this bag. it looks good and is very versatil. Plus, it's a Maxped, so you know it's virtually indestructible.
They planned the layout of the storage areas really well. There's lots of elastic storage straps everywhere and compression straps/cords to keep your gear from rattling around.
It's tough as hell, too: I've comfortably carried 35# of books and tools in it on occasion w/ little or no effort. It also has more internal volume than I'd have guessed at a glance, especially the bottom outer compartment.
My only small gripe, if you can call it a gripe, is that the side w/ the main zipper is a little too busy. This is where all the side MOLLE straps are and the where the zippers for the front pouches need to be when you swing it around front. This puts too many cords and tabs and zipper-pulls in the way when you're accessing the main compartment.
I put a JANUS pouch on the strap for those things you need often w/out swinging it around front ...

I carry this bag everyday, with my laptop, note pads, passports and a bunch of other edc junk that keeps it just about full. I dont use and wear it the conventional way...I dont use the stabilizing strap and I carry the main strap on the opposite shoulder that it is intended for, for quick and easy sling on and off use. I rarely go further than from my front door to my truck and from the truck to the job so no sense in strapping up to walk a mile....which i have done. for my purposes, its a great and extremely useful with tons of organization and pockets that will take you weeks to find. Its also got a water bottle pocket that comes in handy for all sorts of things. I wouldnt recommend it for long, outdoor outings. You will be frequently swapping shoulders. Its not bad, but a conventional 2 strap backpack like the Vulture II would be best and hold worlds more.

This is my first Maxpedition product and it was just as well made as I had heard about. I am not a LEO or in the military, but It serves my EDC needs great. I love the "One Strap" design that centers the pack across my back and the multiple pockets that also access from the side are very versatile. The side bottle pouch is very convenient and roomy. The Zippers seem very durable and the coloration of the bag is nice as well. Sometimes you have to pay for quality and this time it was very well worth it. Excellent all around back pack.
