Just a note that the microscope was not operable when it was received. Though it could not be replaced, OpticsPlanet Customer Service recovery was terrific. They replaced it with another Meade microscope of similar value and that is GREAT recovery. Thanks to OpticsPlanet Customer Service.

Don't make the mistake that I made. This product is horrible(as evidenced by half of the reviews - the other half must secretly work for Meade). I thought this would be a great starter microscope for my son, but it is light years behind the cheap "toy" Tasco that I had as a kid. It is very flimsy plastic, has literally one half inch of focusing adjustment, and generally looks and feels like something you would get as a cheap prize at a carnival. If I had seen it in person first, I would have expected it to cost about $10. I've never given any product a bad review, but I had to speak up about this one. OpticsPlanet is a great company, but they should stop carrying this product.

It's too bad there isn't any quality control available - a simple shake of the box would have alerted anyone to the fact that this thing was in pieces from the manufacturer.
