I was pleasantly surprised by these binoculars! I tried the Meade 9x63mm binoculars with very low expectations, thinking that this would be just another product from china that works the first time you hold them, then degrade from there. Not these! I've owned this pair since Meade first introduced them (2002?) and they never cease to amaze. The image quality is very good; stars are nice, precise pinpoints of light all the way to the edge of the field. The Orion Nebula comes to life through these--it almost feels like a 3D image! The eye relief is generous, but I sometimes have difficulty with my glasses. I have to make sure that my glasses are as close to my eyes as possible to use these binos with glasses. The build quality is... stellar. I have lost track of how many times these have fallen off my observing chair (either due to wind or my own clumsiness) onto the hard-packed dirt. Like a famous watch brand, these take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. The bottom line: highly recommended. ...
