Pros: Good quality, performs as advertised.
Cons: Directions are wrong. The front sight lifts out from the rear.
Would recommend: yes

I installed these sights in less than 30 minutes but needed to modify the front sight. The leading edge of the front sight retaining ramp must be filed (very carefully) as it is too long for its intended position. Only about three tenths of a milimeter neesd to be removed. Frequent checking for fit after a few strokes is necessary as the material is soft. I have the same manufacture sights on my Kimber with no such "gunsmithing" required to install. Slightly disappointing experience.

The rear sight was easy to install and adjusting wasn't a problem. I had problems with the front sight though. Had to file it down to get it to fit. Other than that have no issues.

Pros: Brightest sights I've seen in the dark
Cons: Daytime visibility is not as good as Fiber Optic types
Would recommend: yes

I have the meprolight on my Ruger and Truglo TFO on another gun. The Meprolight sights are noticeably brighter at night than the TFO. But, of course, the TFO are much brighter and easier to see in the daylight. Even so, these are still at least as bright as OEM sights in the day.

The item did not fit my pistol. I chose to "file" the insert (0.025 inch)portion until it fit into the factory slot. I was not prepared to pay additional for gunsmithing.

Pros: Good illumination, strong design
Cons: Can't see all of tritium sight when aiming gun (front sight partially obstructed by frame)
Would recommend: no
smarley wrote:
This product works very well by itself (all Meprolight products are excellent) but does not fit well on the SP101. The shortness of the factory sight causes the tritium vial to be placed to low in the aftermarket blade to be fully effective. When lining up the illuminated dot with the notch in the frame, you only see the top 2/3 of the green dot. You need to hold the gun in a slightly muzzle-high position to see the entire green dot. I ended up re-installing the factory sight and the Meprolight sight sits on a shelf.

Pros: Bright, Fast sight accquisition
Cons: Front Sight requires fitting
Would recommend: yes

You can fit the front sight without the help of a gunsmith. A small fine file and about 10 minutes of work. Filed front end of the sight *(Not Weapon)* Then the sight fit like a glove. Remove very little at a time and try to fit often. Important to maintain angle of the sight ramp. A gunsmith would probably charge very little to do this, if you perfer. Rear was very simple to install. Overall this sight rates a triple A+
