Pros:  Good illumination, strong design
Cons:  Can't see all of tritium sight when aiming gun (front sight partially obstructed by frame)
Would recommend:  no

smarley wrote:

This product works very well by itself (all Meprolight products are excellent) but does not fit well on the SP101. The shortness of the factory sight causes the tritium vial to be placed to low in the aftermarket blade to be fully effective. When lining up the illuminated dot with the notch in the frame, you only see the top 2/3 of the green dot. You need to hold the gun in a slightly muzzle-high position to see the entire green dot. I ended up re-installing the factory sight and the Meprolight sight sits on a shelf.

Pros:  Bright, Fast sight accquisition
Cons:  Front Sight requires fitting
Would recommend:  yes

G. Price wrote:

You can fit the front sight without the help of a gunsmith. A small fine file and about 10 minutes of work. Filed front end of the sight *(Not Weapon)* Then the sight fit like a glove. Remove very little at a time and try to fit often. Important to maintain angle of the sight ramp. A gunsmith would probably charge very little to do this, if you perfer. Rear was very simple to install. Overall this sight rates a triple A+

I very much like the meprolite night sites. It took a little adjustment to the front sight to fit the revelover, but it works great and I love it. I hunt hogs at night with the gun and really like the sites.

Not very easy to install, requires a good drill press, and you would not know this from the product description. Otherwise good product, and works well.

I'm 70 and the hands shake a little, only used the sp 101 3 times and would put 5 shots in a 14 to 16 inch circle. With the Meprolight site 5 shots were in the black in a 5 inch circle, really helped an old guy shoot. Still need some practice! Would highly recommend this site.

Pros:  High quality, Good interference fit, Bright at night
Cons:  Windage adjustment only, Gunsmith installation required
Would recommend:  yes

SAS Precision wrote:

The pros & Cons tells it mostly. I do wish that a fully adjustable rear night sight option were available however. I am a GS. so no installation problems for me, but unless you have mill or a very good drill press with a jig and an XY table the front sight might be a problem to install. OP beat even my distributors price on this item

Pros:  Very Bright, Great Sight Picture
Would recommend:  yes

gunmonkey wrote:

This was my first time installing sights on a pistol, and I found these very easy to install, replacing the Ruger factory sights. Front sight required only a tiny bit of filing to fit the dovetail;the rear sight required none. Very good sight picture. These are noticably brighter than other night sights I have on other pistols. They shot dead on point of aim when I took the pistol to the range. Do it yourself and save the hundred bucks a gunsmith will charge for installation. Free videos on you tube will show you how.
