Great Sights

These sights are great! Easy to line-up target quickly with these sights installed. Very bright! Overall, I am very pleased with these sights. Note, unless you are an accomplished gunsmith or machinist, you will need a gunsmith to install these sights.
Pros: Very bright, easy to use
Cons: Need a gunsmith to install them...

They Glow Like a Pro

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, PA Written on January 30, 2013
you would think you only need to drill a hole for the set pin in the front sight, think again. the rear adjustable sight needs millwork too it you don't want your windage knocking out all the time and want it to work the way it was designed to. I found that the company undersized the hole for the windage spring pin, on the side of the windage screw head. Verrrry frusterating. if you don't know milling then pay someone, this is not for rookies. Other than that this was worth every bit of effort to make it work. Very happy with them! If you really want adjustable night sights for your revolver then these are the ones, but expect a project.
Pros: HD strong glow factor
Cons: need gun smithing ...

Night sights for K frame Smith revolver

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on December 29, 2011
I had to manufacture a tool to take the old nut off and put the new on. The detent was missing from my Mod 15, replacement from Brownells was a hair too large. It took longer to find a bit small enough than it took to redrill the hole in the screw head. Variable speed drill press and slowest speed made it easy to keep from drilling to deep. After I took the red insert out of the front sight I realized that the new front sight was a great deal smaller that the red insert. I had to cut the red insert to make a shim to keep the sight in place. Locktite 609 works as advertised and everything is nice and tite after firing 200 rounds.

I intend purchase the same sights for my Mod 19 and Mod 66 Smiths.

Good value for the price!

Pros: target acquistion at night is a lot easier
Cons: Installation is not for the "faint at heart"...

Meprolight Tritium Night Sights

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on December 21, 2011
The detent would not fit in the screw supplied. It took some very careful reeming to open up the hole enough for the spring and detent to fit and function properly. This was the third set I installed on my S & W's, each one was the same.
Pros: I love night sights, their rare on revolvers!
Cons: None after installation...

Tough to install

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 1, 2011
Quality product, but I would have liked bigger, brighter dot.

Installation can be done by gunowner, but not easy. Fitting of sight to slot required and you have to drill hole.

Need #54 drill. I recommend drillspot.com as source. Also need right size punch and this required I turn down 1/16" punch. Punch from drillspot. Put punch in hand drill and applied sandpaper.

Recommend remove cylinder and put revolver in padded vise. Drill slow and apply lube to drill.1
Pros: quality
Cons: tough to install...
