Meprolight 11420

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WV Written on June 16, 2014
I was looking for night sights for my XDM compact and these are exactly like the originals. Same width, same height, same length. The point of aim and impact is the same. I installed these myself with the (MGW) Maryland Gun Works sight pusher because my local gun shop said that he had broken 2 sight pushers on the Springfield XD-XDM original sights so he will not do them again. The sights had directions with them like remove the old sights out the right side/ejection port side of the slide so it was very easy with the MGW sight pusher. Hope this helps.

Meprolight Tru-Dot Night Sights

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WI Written on March 14, 2014
So if you're like me, you conceal carry as often as possible. When do you think criminals are going to attempt to take to their nefarious activity? That's right - twilight and night time! Why reduce your effectiveness with regular or non-illuminated sights for target acquisition? Yeah lasers are fine, but electronics fail and for conceal carry they present a larger profile and snag points. The green dots work effectively at night and twilight, while the white rings work just as well as the standard OEM sight dots during the day.

The only con I can think of is that I didn't make the investment sooner. Awesome.

Side note: Lasers are fine for home defense when carrying is not an issue.
Pros: Well worth the investment - Perfect balance of brightness and dot diameter. Great for daytime, low light and total darkness.

Tritium sights for Springfield XD Subcompact

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on August 27, 2012
I used my universal sight pusher to install the front sight. The rear sight uses set screws to hold it in place. Buy some Loctite 609 adhesive before buying this sight package. You'll need it and it's recommended in the instructions. Good visibility in low light conditions. I have them on almost all of my pistols.
Pros: Good visibility, easy install

Springfield XDM 45 ACP 4.5 Meprolight Night Sights

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MT Written on January 29, 2012
I use Meprolight night sights on all my Pistols, Shotgun, and Rifle sights that I want night sights on. Way better than Truglo and other types of night sights in my opinion. There light green in day time and bright green at dusk or night time making them really easy to see. Green back and Green Front sights are all I use. Some times the Orange and Yellow not the best in some lights, and they dont seem to hold up as long as the green ones do, but thats your call. You do have to do some gunsmithing to take off and mount the new sights. Just depends on what gun and model youre installing them on what you need to do. There are directions on what you need to do step by step and there not to bad to fallow either. I did the job my self it was easy and I am not a gunsmith. If you plan to change a lot of your gun sights out I would just go and buy the tools to do the job. If it is just a one time deal you can go to a gunsmith I would say a $100 bucks it a big enough budget. A budget for the tools $100 should cover all you need. People have said that they have broke there sights installing them or the gunsmith did when they installed them. That why I do the job my self. I have installed over 10+ sights on guns and have yet to break one. There been a few guns sights that I had to take a few good whacks from a hammer and punch to install the meprolight sights on and there fine. As long as you drive on the very bottom of a dove tall style sight you should have no problem not breaking your...

I have had two sets of these sights now, and both the first set and the replacement set (that I waited a MONTH for) are crap. Neither front site worked? I purchased them due to having them on my M&P and thoroughly enjoying them. Now I can no longer endorse this product. They are crap. A agree with the other posts the front sight never illuminated! I am currently waiting for Kimbers response to my THIRD!!!!! request to rectify the situation, but I am no holding my breath. ...

Mepro's G/G XD 4" .45

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on September 13, 2011
This is my 2nd gun I have night sighted using Meprolights. These sights are very thoughtfully/well made. They look bigger and whiter than the factory sights (Very visible during the day). They are made of metal. I got the Green front and Green rears because the visual cortex of the eye recongnizes green the best on the color spectrum. I would use Meprolights on any application.
Pros: Everything

Love these sights! Front and rear contrasting posts work great for me, they are bright night and day. Installing was a challange, but well worth the time and effort. Definately recommend these sights to anyone looking for quality night sights.
Pros: Versatile day and night
Cons: install was a little bit of a challange but worth it....
