The MFT E-Volv stock attachment provides a large surface area which allows for more comfortable and consistent cheekweld. The
manufacture and material seems durable and matches the finish of my standard AR stock and only weighs a few ounces. I think it will only attach to standard M4 stocks. Installation was easy, although the nuts would pop out of the recesses when pushing while turning the machine screws. I wound up putting a drop of super glue on the nuts to keep them from popping out of their recesses (and some Loctite on the screws) and installation was easy from there on. Once it's securely installed it is rock solid -- it doesn't move, wobble or flex. It doesn't interfere with the charging handle operation or stock lever adjustment.
The supplied sling adaptor and QD push button mount are actually built in to "mounting blocks" for the portion of the saddle that locks it on to the stock. You can install the sling mounts on either side whatever sling setup the user prefers. I really like the rubberized compartments which can hold up to three CR123 each. There are built in spacers in the rubber compartments which keep the batteries from rattling around. Although the storage compartments are rubber and the manufacturer claims it's water-tight, I think it should keep the contents dry in limited exposure to rain, though I highly doubt that it will keep water out if it is submerged. On the other compartment I cut out the rubber spacers and keep an extra firing pin, extractor and spring, other small replacement parts, all stuffed in a small plastic baggie. The obvious minor negative is that it makes the width of the stock wider but not so much that it interferes with weapon handling or operation. Overall, an excellent accessory, highly recommended!
