Millet Red Dot

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on September 2, 2012
I bought this red dot to mount on the carry handle of my Stag AR, so that I could continue to use my iron sights. Installation was easy, and I calibrated it to match the military's 25m/300m zero. With this red dot, I can hit torso sized targets from 25 to 300 meters without having to close one eye. That's exactly what I wanted out of it, so I'm very happy. Of course, if you want to shoot quarter-size groups at 200 yards, this is not the optic you need. If you want to hear that satisfying "ping" of steel targets getting hit at 100-300+ yards and know that you've got a fighting chance with the zombies, give this Millet a try.
Pros: easy to use, holds zero, good price for what you get
Cons: reliability TBD...

Great sight for the price!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 26, 2012
OVERALL: I love this product! I got a red dot that can hold the recoil of a 12GA 2.75" slug. PERFECT! I've also used it on my Glock 17 (with a mount) and it works great!

BEST FEATURES: The dot is perfectly round and there is no blur around it. The brightness setting is GOLD. 12 ON settings and OFF allow you to set this red dot to the exact brightness you desire. Setting it too bright will make it appear larger which can be great for close-quarter-combat (CQC). I've left this thing on over night many times and have left it on for hours and hours at the shooting range. The battery only recently began failling at extremely low brightness settings. But that's because I made the mistake of storing it in a box without taking the battery out.

HOLDS ZERO: HELL YES! I've tried it on a Mossberg 500A (20" barrel) and I only shoot full-power slugs with it. But not the scope rings... read below.

PROBLEM1: Well the screws and allen wrenches that come with it are soft metals and round off way too easily. You CANNOT tighten them enough to get a tight grip on the scope. So after 10 12GA slugs, the sight physically slides forward in the scope rings. Sad. I tried tightening it more and damaged the screws/tool. Well the tool was not a problem... I have better ones plus I just cut the one they gave me with a dremel. But the screws were damaged beyond repair and would continue to slip. My solution: I held the screw tightly with plyers. I started up my Dremel (well it's an AllState but w/e...

Good value sight

This is a really nice red dot sight for the $$. It is not an aimpoint nor acog but for the money it was easy to get on target and has performed consistently.
Pros: Quick on target, Compact design

Millet red dot scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on May 7, 2011
This is exactly what I wanted for my Browning Buckmark .22 pistol. It holds a zero, its fairly small and light, and it would be hard to beat at this price. I have used many inexpensive red dots and been very disappointed, not this one. Bushnell makes one I like a little better, but only because is has more options for aperatures. The Millet is smaller, lighter, and is easier to sight in. I'm very happy with the Millet red dot.
Pros: For the money, I dont see how you could do much better. It holds a zero, has decent mounts.
Cons: None so far....

Red dot sight that is worth the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, DE Written on January 5, 2011
I purchased the 30mm and mounted it on my 357. I was very satisfied with the quality of the scope and ordered the 1 inch model for my 44 mag super red hawk. I have fired 70 rounds threw the super red hawk and have had no problems. Excellent sight.

Hit or miss!!!!!!!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on December 6, 2010
It's hit or miss on this one. This is my second one, i put this on a 22 cal. It will not hold a group, but the one on the muzzleloader will and has for three years. Replace the Millet with a scope on the 22 cal, no problems, groups fine. Some times you will get a well made one and the next one will be a lemon. They are advertised as "Made in the USA"-
Not true!... "China"...Surprised? I hope this helps.
Pros: Easy to mount, standerd 1 " rings. Low profile. Large main control knob. Sun sade
Cons: Some times you will get a well made one and the next one will be a lemon. The are advertised as "made in the USA"- not true! "China" ...

Everything I expected.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IL Written on October 23, 2010
This is my first red dot sight. It mounted easily on my Ruger Super Redhawk using the Ruger supplied rings. I had it sighted in at 25 yards in 5 shots. The red dot is crisp and clear as long as you do not turn the intensity dial higher than necessary for the ambient light. After only about 50 rounds I am very please with the purchase.
Pros: very functional sight
Cons: limited field of view but as expected...
