Great budget scope

by alan, from United States, GA Written on December 15, 2014
If you are looking for a tactical scope in the $300-$400 price range the Millett is a good choice. Great budget tactical scope. The illuminated reticle is nice. Clear optics all the way up to 16x. Got it mounted on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308 with low Millett rings and EGW base....

Millet 4x16x50 mil dot scope

by John, from United States, TX Written on December 11, 2014
High quality scope very well made.scope very clear and reticle lighting very good. Light control gives you just the amount of light you need for different shooting conditions. Scope lens covers are very functional. Parallax adjustment works great. Really a high quality rifle scope,....

Comes with rings that dont fit

by Anton, from United States, MI Written on November 12, 2014
Good optics for the money but the included rings don't fit the scope. They would not fit on any gun period. When I called them and asked to have replacement 50mm rings sent instead of the 30mm rings they included they gave me 5% off the order, but didn't fix the issue....

Very good scope for the money. Put it on a 300 Win Mag, BAR. With no problems. Had some diffulculty understanding the locking rings on the adjustments. Purchased another for a DPMS SASS 308 to replace a Super Snipper. Good magnification and the illuminated recital is a nice addition....
Pros:
  • Great zoom
  • good visibility in low light
Cons:
  • nothing
Best Used for:
  • hunting, range shooting

eyepeice not desighned well

by redlab, from United States, GA Written on November 9, 2014
This scope had the eyepiece loose when i received it...but since the flip cover goes over the eyepiece and body of scope, it took me probably two years and a lot of time and needless head scratching to figure out why this thing shot so randomly. I would never get any millett product....just another name for a bought out made in china product that is a great price due to short cutting on design and manufacturing; If you want a "500 dollar" scope, then you should probably pick one out that costs 500 dollars, and save yourself a bunch of possible headaches and lost time and ammo like me. I'm going to pony up and get a good nikon or leupold. I have learned the lesson. Now i really understand the china debacle with manufacturing these days. bushnell owns millet, and probably won't re-brand them due to quality issues. I dug a lot on this, and replacement scopes, and there are a lot of nice looking cheap china scopes that are junk. Spend the extra money and get yourself a real scope and not a toy scope....

Issues which could be ten characters long....

by None, from United States, VT Written on November 8, 2014
I purchased my second Millettt from Opticsplanet and received a scope which seemed to have defective optics. I celled Optics and they said I have to call Bushnell. The guy from Bushnell that I spoke with should not be allowed to speak to the public, he was o rude that I will NEVER buy another Bushnell product. Anyway I returned the scope using Optics RMA system. The tracking system said it was received 10/01/2014, Optics never processed it until the 4th. I called this morning and they said they may get to it next week and then it will take 10 days to process it before they send out the replacement. So it has taken almost a month to get this corrected and I still don't have a scope..... I'll probable go to Midway next time...I dolove the scope on my other system which is a TSR-1....

4-16x50 mm scope

by ram, from United States, OH Written on November 3, 2014
Let me begin by saying that In am not a gun snob and couldn't' afford to be one as I don't see the reason for $1000.00+ scopes or over priced gun items. I'm 74 yrs old and need all the help in the vision field I can get. I had ordered this scope a few weeks ago and mounted it right away, then off to the range with gun in hand. (savage 11 308) In no time I had sighted it to a 1/2" 5 shot group at 100 yds. Not to bad for my inexpensive gun and scope. I'm going to order another Millett soon for my Remington 700 and maybe ever for my S&W M&P Ar15. So you can see I'm not into high dollar equipment, just good reliable iron and glass. I'm sold on Millett and American products. PS. Going to a 300 yd. range soon....

by CKS, from United States, NJ Written on October 23, 2014
It was good until it failed.

It was mounted om Rem 700 LTR in 223 and failed when 14th shot was fired.
Inside rubber gasket/piece/band became lose and you can see it through eye piece.

I actually liked the scope and just sent back to Bushnell for repair. Let's see how it will work out

The turn around time is like a month or so which is very long.

Other than this, Optics planet delivered on time as advertised and they are top notch optics vendor in the nation....
Pros:
  • Clear, bright optics
  • easy to zero and to operate
Cons:
  • Quality Control
  • Durability
Best Used for:
  • Target, Long Range Hunting, Varminteering

Millet 4-16x50

by JD, from United States, SC Written on September 24, 2014
Scope is beautiful. service was good. the free shipping took a long time to get here. the front eyecover piece is lousy. when you try to pry it open the entire eyecover pries off the scope. it is useless. that is the only reason i gave 4 stars...

Millett 4-16x50mm Tactical Rifle Scope

by Jbrooks, from United States, AZ Written on September 24, 2014
Put the scope on my new Ruger 556 VT. First time I shot this gun with this scope I was on paper at 100 yards. One adjustment and I was on target all day.

The mil dots are very useful to calculate hold over for distance, if you do your homework and have an idea of your particular round ballistics. I was consistently hitting iron out to 400 yards, some at 500 which is more about the shooter than this rig. A bipod will probably remedy this, since I was shooting prone off a ammo box.

Compared with the scopes of those I was shooting with; the Millett scope was as clear as more expensive scopes. The parallax adjustment helps bring everything in sharp focus.

I would buy this scope again; I wished I didn't replace the scope on my 243 earlier this year or it would also be wearing on of these Millett scopes....
Pros:
  • Good value, featured packed for the money
Cons:
  • none so far
Best Used for:
  • Varmint, long distance target
