First impressions review of the Millet LRS-1 ATAC .1 Mil BK81005A.
Went to this model from the all black version because found out, 3 weeks after waiting for it to get back in stock, that Millet discontinued certain LRS-1 models.
First off the picture on this site shows a light desert tan with some medium brown camo pattern but the scope I got is forest green with medium browns. Could be variations from the factory or camera settings during photography.
The rings that come with the scope are solidly built and has the same camo pattern as the rest of the scope. They are however the High model (checked with Millet). With my EGW 20 MOA base this results in a scope front bell .80 inches above the barrel. Results may not be as high if one were to use more standard bases but consider the ring height that comes with this scope and that you may have to spend more money on lower bases (which Millet said by the way will come in any color as long as it's black) Bring out the camo spray paint. Millet should consider selling this scope without the rings drop the price and enable the buyer to spend the money on the scope rings (height) he wants.
I was not able to give this scope a fair shake down because the day I first took it out there were 10-50 mph gusts of wind (depending on which weather report you read or listened) and no target stands were surviving the experience. Will reserve that for another review. I was able to consistenly hit the 400 yd steel plates.
It was difficult to test paralax, brightness clarity, etc, with sand and pebbles blowing in your face. But for now the clicks are positive, the locking rings work, and the re-zero system works without problems.
Manual says the the mil dot reticle is set true 1 mil at the 25X magnification setting (other scopes for example have this set at 10X). Another potentially good thing to explore on further shake downs.
More to follow.
Pros: Mil dot set at 1 mil at 25X zoom, Price, mil turrets with mil dot reticle, comes with rings
Cons: Color not the same as pic on this site, comes with rings
