Built like a tank but still a dud

by Mchawtie, from United States, CA Written on August 6, 2014
I bought one for my .308 in early 2013. That first one had an issue with the the windage turret (it stopped actually indexing the reticle)neighing about a week of getting it. Optics planet, as always, were super cool to deal with and they sent me a new one. That one lasted for about 14 months until I noticed an object had become dislodged in the erector assembly and was floating in the tube. Right after that, the parallax adjustment dial stopped turning. I contacted Bushnell and they were good to deal with also and sent me a replacement. The same day I got the replacement scope, the magnification dial stopped turning. Contacted Bushnell and they sent me a fourth one. I immediately sold it on ebay to cut my losses. Bushnell is a great company, but in my opinion, there are better options in the same price range. Don't be hypnotized by high magnification and illuminated reticle like I was before I knew better. Unless you're willing to spend some serious coin, high magnification will really only hinder you. You need very high quality glass to benefit. Also, avoid second focal plane reticles like this one!...
Pros:
  • Great customer service
  • Looks awesome
Cons:
  • High magnification
  • Poor construction
  • Second focal plane
  • Turret clicks are weak and can be hard to distinguish

MILLET LRS 6-25 SCOPE REVIEW

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 30, 2013
I guess it it not going to be used for anything serious. For my 1000 yard competition work I use Leopold.
Pros: Lots of travel in the movement
Cons: the movement clicks didnt seem to be the same all 360 deg of the knob rotation...

Exceeded expectations

I use this scope on a Savage 10BA often from 300-400 yards. Took it out to F class at 1,000 for the 1st time and was impressed. I shot a much higher performance (and cost) scope right after using the LRS and really could not tell a difference.

I put "really big" as a con but it's OK on a big rifle like the 10BA. However. it would look out of place on a smaller rifle or AR.
Pros: Great performance and value
Cons: Really Big...

Not as impressed as I thought I would.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, GA Written on November 13, 2012
This scope in no way compares to Leopold 6.5-20 or even the Conquest line from Zeiss both of which are at a similar price point. I have 2 of these on custom McWhorter rifles and very unsatisfied with this purchase. Won't ever stray from what's tried and true for me in competition and in the field. I suggest using the money you were going to spend on this scope and using it towards one of the more trusted names in 56mm scopes. The 35mm tube also offers no better light transmission and possibly worse than most 1" tubes.
Pros: A lot of adjustment
Cons: Will not hold zero on either of my McWhorter magnum caliber rifles. Will not clear at high magnification. turret locks often dont hold when resetting zero....

Scopes is huge. 22" long with sun shade. Clairty is good. Millett is owned by Bushnell comp. so it has a life time warranty as long as you got purchase date. Others will cost up in 2000 dol range. Cain not beat the cost. Box states millett a American comp. made in china like 90% of every thing else.
Pros: Good clairty it's owned by Bushnell scope comp.
Cons: Box states an American comp. proudly made in china. ...
