The first mount I received did not come with the slide plate cover which is ridiculous but Optics Planet was kind enough to replace the mount for me. When I received the 2nd one the slide plate cover was too thick for my 181 so I had to shave it down with my dremel. After doing that installation wasn't that bad but when I locked the set screws the allen key that came with it snapped right in half. I used a decent amount of blue loctite on all the screws and it still comes loose. To be honest I don't like this mount at all but it's the only thing that will fit my 181. So in the end buyers please be aware of manufacturing defaults, quality control for B-square is terrible.

I was disappointed with the overall fit and finish in the quality of the mount. Being a machinist myself, I would not let a part go to a customer looking like that. The mount puts the scope high (over the original sights) there is a lot of flex in the system. I may be making my own out of steel in the future.

This means the bolt stop cover will NOT fit on any of the four mini-14's we tried it on. Contrary, we tried two other brands of this exact same type of scope mount, and they both fit immediately. We had a gunsmith look at this, and he agreed, the B-Square bolt stop cover plate would require modification for it to fit on our models of this firearm.

It has 3 attachment points which required precision installation, but I was able to do it. It bolts to the slide stop cover plate plus two hex screws contact the top of the receiver--a three point attachment. Hopefully this will be durable. I used lock tite on attachment screws.

Even after firing more than 200 rounds, the mount stayed tight, as did the AimPoint Micro T-1 sight I was using. Also, the mount returned to zero after detaching and re-attaching it. Overall, a strong, quality mount.
