Pros:  Lightweight and compact
Cons:  Narrow depth of field, minimum interpupillary distance to great for this user, resolution and brightness not as good as I expected for a glass of this price
Would recommend:  no

This binocular appeared very attractive based on its light weight and recent very positive review in a major outdoor magazine. Accordingly, as an avid backpack hunter, I thought this instrument might just be the optimal instrument for my high hunt needs. I was quite disappointed, however, with the instrument's resolution and depth of field, based on comparisons with my reference binoculars, a Pentax 10 x 50 ED and a Zeiss Classic 10 x 40. For my eyes, the Pentax ED instrument yields markedly better resolution and depth of field than the subject Minox, while the Zeiss is marginally better in respect to these properties. Prospective buyers should, however, be advised that the Minox's minimum interpupillary distance was slightly over my requirement, and this likely contributed to my unhappiness.
