straight shooter

by BUZZ, from United States, GA Written on February 8, 2015
Excellent Scope, Crystal clear glass. Looks good on my 700 Stainless 30/06. This is the second Mueller scope I have purchased, The first went on my CZ 452 and it is still there.I will probable get two more for my other two 700's. Does anybody need two BSA's scopes? My shooting partners are impressed by the price....

Precision adjustment knobs.

by Mozella, from United States, AL Written on January 8, 2015
I mounted this scope on a brand new Savage MK II FV .22 rifle and took it to the range to zero in. After quickly zeroing the scope at 50 yards I consulted my "External Ballistics" Android app for 100 yards. It advised me to go up 56 clicks on my Mueller scope. I dialed in exactly 56 clicks and fired a three shot group. Bingo, all three inside the 1" bulls eye; my very first shots at 100 yards. This is a lot of scope for the money and I'd buy it again except that I'm buying a slightly larger Mueller scope for my new Howa .223.

Not only does this scope function well, it's internal parts are apparently made to a very high standard and the adjustment knobs match the theoretical ballistics perfectly. I'm not a long range hunter, but if I were and if I had some way to measure distance and/or wind I would have complete confidence that adjusting the scope based on the data derived from a ballistics calculator would result in a first shot hit.

Check the Mueller web site for the scope dimensions and shop accordingly for mounting rings. The front AO optic is rather large. In fact, the Optics Planet salesman insisted I purchase a set of rings which turned out to be too low; he should have known better. Do your own careful research when selecting a mounting system....

Outstanding rimfire scope

by plinker, from United States, WA Written on October 18, 2014
Mounted on Savage 22LR BTVS. Excellent scope for the money. Very clear optics & the AO feature is really nice. Takes a while to get used to that much magnification as you can watch your heartbeat move your point of aim. The mildot's work great. Zero it in at 100 yds & it's 4 dots down for 50 yds. 200 yds is about 2.75-3 dots up. 10 mph crosswind, is about 1.5 dots left or right. Pretty decent groups using bulk ammo at .05/.06 cents per round at 1250 FPS. This scope really performs best at 100 yds or more....

good low cost scope

by Butch, from United States, IN Written on October 4, 2014
This is a good scope for the money, not as good as the more expensive scopes but if your not going to shoot really long range this scope will do ok. The eye relief is really small is the only problem I have with it....
Pros:
  • Low Cost.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target, hunting 0-300 yards

Mueller 8.5-25 x44 scope

by Mac, from United States, GA Written on September 20, 2014
This scope appears to be well made and have optical quality that is superior to other scopes in the same price range. Adjustments on my first trip to the range tracked properly and there was no distortion....

Better than hope for

by Gary, from United States, AZ Written on August 26, 2014
As the title indicates this scope is better than I hoped for. Inexpensive scopes are a real dissappointment be I am very satisfied with this one! Have spent many years shooting up to 1000 yards and find cheap scopes really dissappointment at 200 yards and out but this one seems to focus pretty well out past 500 yards. Would buy another or recommend to a friend!...

Good scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on February 11, 2013
I've got two other Muellers- a 4-16X50 Tactical mounted on a CZ-455 American and a 8.5-25X50 Eradicator on a Marlin Model 17V. This Mueller, and a 8.5-25x44AO Tactical Riflescope MT852544 which is mounted on a Marlin Model 882SS and is adaquate for the type of shooting that I'm doung with these rifles- "poppin rats and crows from 50 yards out to 100 yards. Light transmission with this scope is not as good as the 50mm's, but magnification is pretty good through the entire range, much better than the 4-16X50 and just as good as the 8.5-25X50.

Even though this is a centerfire scope on a rimfire rifle, I perfer them over rimfire scopes for performance. Also I perfer scopes with 50MM objectives, but with this 44MM scope being under $200, it is by far much better in quality and performance than any of the currently produced scopes in it's price range that I've come across to date- it's by far better scope than ANY Barska, Tasco, BSA, and most of the Simmons and Bushenell with simular features. Even though I'm more prone to spend $200 - $300 for a little more scope, if I need a scope for under $200, I'll purchase this scope again.
Pros: Good overall quality
Cons: None...

Great Value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MO Written on September 4, 2012
This scope is a great value for the money. clarity is great all the way out to its highest power rating and it does hold zero on my 22-250. No problem with this scope whatsoever. Being used to the mil dot reticle, I find this feature very useful and accurate in determining distance but since the mil dots are on the second focal plane, the scope must be set on 10x power to use this feature accurately.
Pros: Great value for the money
Cons: None...
