Most chemists avoid FEP funnels.
There is no "FEP" stamped on them so they are regarded as common plastics that may be a source of contamination.
Also there are (rarely)leaks due to defects in the bore of the neck. One leak and a chemist will never use this type of funnel again !
I have used FEP funnels for 30 years. The rare leaky funnel can be identified in one minute by adding 3ml of acetone and shaking with the cap on. The vapor increases internal pressure causing the solvent to ooze out....
