great for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 21, 2012
great piece but the back extended out too far. the term compact laser in the title is decieving. it will fit a full size rail. lucky for me i had a handgun scope rail i connected it to so its a good low cost alternative if your looking for a sub $100 green laser. i havent taken it to the range so i dont know how well it will hold zero.
Pros: affordable, all metal contruction, nice bright laser, good range.
Cons: didnt fit my compact sr9c and most likly wont fit yours....

NC star laser

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on October 19, 2011
I just received the NC star green laser and mounted it to my PLR-22. It slapped on quickly and I am pleased with it. It does not weigh down the muzzle and the on/off switch is easily accessible. It does burn bright so don't know how long a battery lasts but overall Im satisfied with my 59$.
Pros: quick easy installation, lightweight
Cons: ...maybe too bright...

Quick Release isn't as tight and secure as other mounting options

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on May 29, 2011
I went with the Quick Release mount becauce I needed the ability to quickly add or replace stuff on the rails of my Sig 556. Unfortunatley, the quick release feature comes at a price: the laser is a little loose on the rails and consequently, the beam can move about up to 3 MOA in each direction with recoil and movement of the rifle. I am still trying out how to better secure it and get it down tight. Otherwide, nice laser!
Pros: Fast and easy to install and to zero in, bright laser
Cons: Quick release isn't all that secure; beam can move around up to 3 MOA in each direction...

Good for the money

I bought this laser for training based on it's lower price and it's quick release feature. I wasn't expecting much so I was pleased to find that it's made all of metal and so far has worked well....

Pistol maybe, rifle, No

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on May 17, 2011
Very nice bright green dot BEFORE I fired a mag from my AR. The problem is now the is a bright green dot, with a lot of bright tiny dot all around it. Looks like a blast of green bird shot with a slug hole in the center. Sight attached to a free float rail, mounted very solid. If used on a pistol, it would be fine.
Pros: Affordable, lightweight, bright
Cons: not durable on rifle....

Green dot quick release

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MN Written on April 22, 2011
The dot is a little big compared to others. For a pistol who cares??? The only issue I have with it is the switch to turn on/off. It is a push from one side to turn on push from the other to turn off. When put in a case on a gun it can be accidentally turned on and there is no timer to turn it off. I just wedge a small piece of cardboard in it after use to lock it. Other than that, for the money it does the job very well.
Pros: INEXPENSIVE
Cons: Switch is easily engaged accidentally...

Nc Star Compact Pistol Green Laser

Put this on my Ruger SR40. Fits nice and looks great. It does stick out past the gun about 1". No big deal, but still be nice if it was flush. After 100 so far, still on zero. And super fast shipping from Opticsplanet. You guys are great.
Pros: Very bright. At 35 feet outside in the sun, you can still see this very well. Nice on and off switch.
Cons: Maybe just a bit on the big side....
