Pros:  Excellent product for the price
Cons:  None after 6 trips to the range and about 1000 rounds of .22
Would recommend:  yes

I needed a scope for my Ruger SR-22 and was looking for a tactical scope that would get me started. This NC Star was super easy to mount and zero. I zeroed the scope at 50 yards using CCI tactical .22 ammo. I was able to group ten shots in a quarter size circle using all levels of magnification. After my third trip I decided to see how centered the elevation and windage were so I counted the number of turns in each direction and then back to its zero. Next trip to the range resulted in perfect shots. I moved up to 100 yards and started out about 6" low, so I decided to turn the BDC a notch, groups were better but still low, so I moved it another notch. To my surprise I got the groupings back to within the quarter size circle. That was all I could ask for from the small .22 round. Bottom line is that this is a great product with a lot of features for the price. One recommendation is that I wish I got the P4 sniper retical so that I could see the quarters at 100yrds. Optics Planet was great ...

I purchase this scope for my sig 522 swat. With the quick attachment it was easy to install and zero. The scope looks great on the rifle as it closly resemblies an acog. I may later try one on my AR15. The sccpe is loaded with features such as varialble power, illuminated recticle and quick mount.

Pros:  functional. it works. good price.
Cons:  I had to modify it.
Would recommend:  yes

I bought this to mount on my 450. I bore sighted it and then sighted it in at 50 yards. It took 24 rounds. When i was finished I found the "roll pin" that locates it to a groove in the picatinny rail had falled out, bummer. The scope had slid forward an inch or more. I used it once more for some plinking and it slid again. I did not want to return it so I found that the shank on a #12 wood screw worked perfectly, it was .1mm larger in diameter. So now it stays in place and all is good.

I am very disappointed with this scope. I just mounted it on my S&W MP 15 and the bloody thing is crooked. For some godawful reason the crosshairs are off center.Almost as if the whole tube is twisted in the rings. Oh yeah and you can't fix it since its all one piece. Very very very disappointed!

Pros:  I really like the BDC Capabilities of this scope
Cons:  None, with the P4 reticle / see my mil dot review.
Would recommend:  yes

L wrote:

I first purchased this scope with the mil dot reticle, but found the illumination way too bright even on the low setting. The width of the mil dot reticle lines were too wide. In mulling it over I felt that the brightness was intensified by the large width of the reticle lines, so I reordered the scope in the P4 reticle, which I like much better than the mil dot. I was right. With the P4 reticle the illumination is not so overwhelming on low, and speed of getting on target is much faster. I zeroed mine at 100 yards and use the iron sights for anything closer. At 200 yards, simply rotate the BDC knob to 2, acquire the target and pull the trigger. Scope is bright and clear and looks great on my AR15. 2 x 7 magnification is also perfect for the capabilities of the AR. Glad I sold the mil dot and took a chance on the P4 reticle. I am very satisfied now. I do not know what they could do to this scope to make it any more perfect. I know many do not like a scope on the carry handle, but I wanted ...

Pros:  Love the BDC capabilities
Cons:  Illuminated, the reticle is too bright
Would recommend:  no

Before mounting I removed the two little mount screws on the bottom and used locktite and reinstalled, removing one at a time. As mentioned in the cons above, the reticle is a little too bright even on the lowest iluminated setting. The reticle in very low light tends to be overbearing and a nuisance. Of course in good light, no illumination is needed. I have this scope mounted on the carry handle of an AR15 because I wanted the option of the iron sight. I absolutely love the BDC capability. With the scope zeroed out at 100 yards, if my target is at 300 yards, just turn the BDC knob to 3 and go for the shot. The scope is nice looking and definitely does the job, but I am a little upset with the brightness of the illumination and believe I made a bad choice going with the mil dot reticle. The P4 reticles have a much thinner line that does not cover up the target like the mil dot does. This isn't a great issue with a target close by, but at a distance a smaller target will disappear behind ...

This scope had everything I was looking for at a great price. Other scopes can cost hundreds more and seem to have the same features. The ability to mount on the carry handle and still have access to the iron sites is a plus as well.

I have the Mark 3 mounted on an AR -15. I purchased the quick release for mounting on a picatinny. After initially sitting in I noticed the two screws which hold the optic to the quick release base had loosened. I recommend they be removed and Locktite applied before mounting on weapon. I have not yet determined this optics ability to hold a zero . Overall I would recommend this scope based on my experience to date.
