So far, so good!

by Scott Hemmelsbach, from United States, MI Written on December 22, 2014
I've read a few reviews regarding the pressure switch for this item which in short stated it was marginal and may or may not operate properly. I made the purchase all the same and found this item to be very reliable. It arrives packaged VERY nicely and so far works without any problems. It is smaller than I expected which is actually a plus. The green light is tremendously bright in both day and night applications. The weight is good and the pressure switch works without any problems. I would say for the price, this is an excellent buy for personal home defense or the range. Of course military and LE may need something which meets a certain set of standards, for you and I, this laser is very good. I have not attempted to zero the laser in and cannot offer comment on that aspect but it is well built and looks fantastic on my Mossberg 930 SPX Tactical, (thus the reason I probably won't bother trying to seriously zero it in)....
Pros:
  • Very sturdy/well built
Cons:
  • Pressure switch seems not as sturdy as the unit itself.
Best Used for:
  • Personal Defense

Nc Star Pistol And Rifle Green Laser with Weaver Mount/Pressure Switch

by Harry Rouch, from United States, TX Written on December 4, 2014
I bought the sight for my Mossburg 500 shotgun. I am a senior citizen and cannot see well. With the Nc Star Green Laser, I can hit the target without trying to align the sights. It is wonderful. It mounted on my shotgun very easily and was on target without any adjustments. I will buy another for my Ruger pistol....
Pros:
  • easy to use and set up
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Self defense

When i first purchased this laser and shot it on my RRA ar-15 it would loose zero after the second shot. I called the company to complain and they said put locktite on the set screws. So bought locktite made for guns and took it out. put on the locktite and 30 min later shot 60 rounds and it held zero nicely. So if you don't have a problem with a 5 dollar fix for a 80 dollar laser to get it to perform like a 200 dollar on e then get this thing. Also on a bright day with a 7x magnifier i could barely see the laser at 50 yards nighttime its beautiful and shines great in indoor lighting.
Pros: cheap
Cons: set screw flaw...

use on ar-15 after 60 rounds of 5.56

For those of you who want it to have an end cap on off just place an o ring behind the cap this keeps water resistance and allows a pressure on/off without the cord. I can see this laser at 25 yards daylight with a magnifier only but night it works perfectly. My biggest complaint is that it looses zero after 3 shots. I co witness this laser with my eotech 512 and magnifier and i watched it creep up and to the right after the second shot. If you buy this laser check it out before 30 days expires because optic planet won't even try to help you.(FYA i was 33 days to be exact) They just told me I'm sorry its been 30 days. that was more upsetting then the loss of zero. After doing some research it's a hit or miss on the zero issue. My next step is NCstar for a replacement. In Summary if you don't use it at the range and you zero it and leave alone for the day its really needed then buy this. The creeping it did after 3 shots was one inch on target at 25 yards still tactically acceptable just not ideal
Pros: compact, bright, price
Cons: subpar switch won't hold zero...

NcStar Green Laser

Mounted on an AR-15 bayonet lug mount. It is bright easy to mount and easy to adjust, but doesn't seem to hold zero after a couple rounds. Heard someone else had the same issue and used teflon tape on the adjustment screw threads? might try that or some Non-Permanant thread locker? Time will tell.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Doesn't hold exact zero after a couple rounds...

Does the job...

Great that it runs on a C123 battery, but was expecting it to be brighter for a green laser. It'll work, though.
Pros: Easy to sight in...
Cons: Not bright enough...
