Cons:  dark, little focus range
Would recommend:  no

I'm a meter reader, and I often have to read meters over fences (locked and/or dogs) and such. I needed a cheap, light monocular to carry with me. This is NOT the one to buy. There is almost no focal range. I was able to only read one meter with it, on a *sunny* day, at about a 40 foot distance. Usually, I'm closer, in the 8-15' range. This monocular is just about useless. Until I find another, I'm returning to using my Brunton Lite-Tech binoculars.

Pros:  looks ok
Cons:  won't focus, flimsy strap attachment, unusable
Would recommend:  yes

This thing has only a quarter turn focus adjustment and can not be focused at distances over 10 or 20 feet so far as I can tell. Customer service unsympathetic, claims they sell it because NCStar puts their name on it and they carry the complete NCStar line, even though they consider $9 scopes junk. Don't waste your money.

Pros:  It does work. It's neatly assembled.
Cons:  It's very dark viewing through it, color is off viewing through it.
Would recommend:  no

It's small objective, and high power would have been better optically with no or little coatings. I can't think of any reason ruby coatings would be preferred. It seems it could only be usable on the brightest of days.
