Spotting Scope

by PA1776, from United States, PA Written on November 18, 2014
I've ordered two of these now, One for myself and one as a gift. Both myself and the person I ordered it for have had no problems and we absolutely love it! I would highly recommend this scope for anyone on a budget or as an entry level scope!...

Great spotting scope

by salbruno, from United States, NJ Written on October 13, 2014
This spotting scope is of very high quality, easy to focus even at the highest magnification. Another very desirable feature is the laser. It allows for coarse location adjustment especially at higher power. The ability to turn the scope body allows the positioning of the eyepiece such that the target can be viewed easily without moving from a prone shooting position. Highly recommended!...

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk

by SpecProg, from United States, FL Written on September 6, 2014
Have had this for a number of years, & have decided to give up on it, even though it hasn't fallen apart.
Fuzzy at all magnifications except 20X, i.e., useless past 50yds.
Required constant focusing.
Laser is useless.
Not even worth 1-star....
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • all
Best Used for:
  • blind person

Lovin' this scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 27, 2014
I'm so pleased with this item. I read a lot of good comments about this item and some bad ones too. Despite what people are saying about the laser dot, I have to say I love it. I shoot at an indoor range and at 25 yards it hits the beam at the top of the carrier at the perfect spot to confirm that I'm pointed at the right target. It's not a "must-have" feature, but it's definitely a little cool "nice-to-have" feature. The tripod was totally fine. I honestly don't know what some people were complaining about. The optics are very clear and have plenty of room for adjustment. I haven't used it at an outdoor range yet, but for me 99% of the time it will be at a 25-yard indoor range (for pistol shooting) and for that purpose I think it is literally a perfect fit (especially considering the reasonable price). At this price point I feel I'm getting a lot more than my money's worth. I'm so happy about that.
Pros: Image crispness, Laser confirmation dot, Carry bag, and Tripod are all better-than-expected for $60 with free shipping.
Cons: Minor crinkle in eye socket rubber thingy....

Not bad

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 19, 2012
A little fuzzy at higher power. It probably would benefit from a finer tuning focus adjustment knob.
One thing I have learned that bears on evaluating spotting scopes: if the light from the background behind the target is similar to what the target itself is reflecting, don't blame the scope. A dark (grassy) backstop is going to let you see holes on light colored targets better than a light colored backstop.
Pros: High power, low cost
Cons: Not so sharp at higher power...

Good Value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on July 26, 2012
I was hesitant to order from the so so reviews, but I gave it a shot. The tripod works for me even though it is cheap but functional. I used it for sighting in a few rifles at 100 yards and was very clear on the 40x setting in overcast weather. The only issue is that it is a lot harder to look through the eye piece with any type of glasses on.
Pros: Good for at least 100 yards.
Cons: Hard to see with range/sunglasses on....

NcSTAR 20-60x60 Spotting Scope Green Lens With Tripod / Laser

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 17, 2012
You get what you pay for, which in this case is not so bad. If your looking for a cheap range spotting scope this is probably one of the best bang for your buck scopes. Optics are clear and the adjustable sun shade is an added plus when shooting in sunny areas. I replaced the cheap tripod that is supplied with a camera tripod and have had zero problems.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: plastic construction...
