better than I hoped for

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on October 12, 2011
First off I am a serious shooter with a 200 yard range in on my place, that said this is a decent scope by any standard and a great scope for the money. .22 caliber hits are clear out to 125 yards, .30 caliber hits are good out to 200 yards. Overall quality seems pretty good. The tripod is a joke but I knew that going in. I found a camera tripod for $3.00 at goodwill, so look around and you can have a pretty good setup on the cheap. I would recommend this to people who are not optic snobs.
Pros: great out to 100 yards
Cons: tripod is a joke...

Does the job at a nice price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on April 25, 2011
I bought this to use in an indoor (50') range (attached to full-size, stable tripod or pistol range case). It works perfectly for this application.
Pros: Lightweight, inexpensive
Cons: Tripod not really useful...

Awesome little scope!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 21, 2010
I am a bullseye shooter and my more expensive spotting scope would not focus at 50 foot distance. Funny thing is, I was told this would not either! It does, beautifully! Tough to find a better spotting scope for the money.
Pros: Perfect for my needs: In-Door Pistol Range scope
Cons: Didn't find this sooner? Great little scope for the money!...

A Waste of $21, get a better quality one instead!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on August 23, 2010
Made of very cheap plastic, like toy plastic, easily breaks. Optically blurry, eye relief too short, you end up up hunting for a small spot to see through in the eyepiece. Tripod also made of same cheap flexible toy plastic, causes bouncing image. Probably could have returned, but then out for return shipping costs. The similar zooming model is probably made the same way. What a waste! Could have applied the $21 plus shipping toward a better quality scope. Live an learn...
Pros: None that I can see
Cons: Bad materials, bad workmanship...

NcSTAR 20x50

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on May 13, 2010
This is great! $21 man! How does everyone *not* have one of these?! It's obviously not the greatest thing ever, and the tripod kinda sucks, but you can use any camera tripod with it... Bottom line: it WORKS, so what more can you ask for? It's clear enough that I can see hits on paper out to 150 yards and possibly beyond, durable enough to survive the mild abuse of backpacking, and small/light enough to take anywhere in any bag... Downsides? There aren't any for twenty bucks!
Pros: Cheap! And it works!
Cons: Tripod is barely adequate...

NcStar Spotting Scope Very Good Deal

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 13, 2009
I got this scope to look at pellet gun targets set up at 50ft and 100ft. I worried that the scope would have trouble seeing the close target (50ft) I worried for nothing the smallest print on the paper can be read. Also I knocked mine off the table three times and the only thing I broke was the tripod. For the price if the whole thing had broken I would be back here to buy it again
Pros: Very durable , great ability to focus at close ranges , light weight
Cons: It's not really a con but tri pod could be made to make the scope a bit more stable. In a perfect world the case would hole the scope with tripod attched not in it's own pocket...
