You get what you pay for... sometimes

by Tom, from United States, GA Written on March 23, 2015
The first kit that I bought for $142 arrived and the 3RS scope was defective. Only
the left side cross hair lit up. I called Cust Svc and the fellow told me to send it back for a replacement (you have to return all three items even if some work) The next one came and had the same problem. Since this box was opened already and the battery was already installed the scope, it appears that Optics just sent me one that someone else had returned. Also, unless you use the wire, the laser alone does not have an on/off switch. You have to loosen and tighten the battery cap. Again I
called Cust Svc this time for a refund, for which I am still waiting. I agree with a previous review that the power adjustment ring was very stiff. The price on the three
kit system has dropped. Draw your own conclusions, but don't expect too much....

Nice scope.

by Mark, from United States, TX Written on March 22, 2015
This scope is really nice for the money.Clear reticle, nice illumination on the crosshairs. My only negative on it is it's a little on the heavy side.
Also the 4-reticle holographic red dot is nice.I have it mounted on my AR-15 already....

Discovering tight zoom

by W8LM, from United States, KS Written on March 10, 2015
I could hardly move the scope zoom lever. It barely budged. Well I removed the mount from the scope and found someone missed a tapped hole The interior of the mount was loaded with aluminum shavings from trying to screw a screw into metal not a hole. I played with the zoom lever and it loosened a bit. Cleaned all the aluminum shaving and put the scope back together with the mount. The bare metal where the shavings were removed are between the scope and mount assembly and cannot be seen. Butthat ended my Sunday play day and I have not done a thing to actually mount the scope.

I have not had time to call and have not had time to decide if I need to reject it in it's current state. Now I get a request to review.. I would of thought the zoom lever would of been easier to adjust, with 5 or so pounds of pressure. Next time I go to town I'm going to check another brand of scope to see how it functions. If this isn't right, it's going back .. that means I have to go a few more weekends without....

This is an excellent sight, although I have not had the chance to use it yet. It is well constructed and appears to be very easy to use. The product was shipped very quickly and packaged very well. No complaints so far....

Nice kit, good price, HEAVY scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on May 18, 2014
This is a VERY cool looking scope that will perfectly match the style of any AR15 or an M&P 15-22. In all honesty, I'm sure that's the #1 reason anybody would purchase this scope, since there are a number of other scopes that share similar features and magnification, for less money, and with a LOT less weight. This is a VERY heavy scope, the heaviest scope of this type I've ever see. When you pick it up, you'll be shocked by how heavy it is, even if you're prepared for it in advance.

Setting aside the weight, the optics are very clear, and the illumination is very bright. It has, I believe, 7 different illumination settings, or you can turn the illumination off. I did notice that the reticle was off by about 5 degrees when I mounted it on the gun. To solve this you have to loosen the housing that surrounds the scope with the picatinny rails, using the Allen wrench provided in the box, then you have to try and adjust it so that it's level. I did notice that the illumination inside the scope is not entirely even. You can tell that the light source is coming from one side and that it isn't distributed evenly, particularly at lower illumination settings. Not a big deal though.

The red dot sight in this kit is very straight forward, and looks nice. It comes with a little rubber cover that's easily removed. If you mount this on top of the scope, it has to be mounted at the forward end of the scope (away from the shooter), where the picatinny rail is longer. I wou...

Great Scope for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IL Written on February 3, 2014
I bought this scope for mounting onto my .22 air rifle. It was fairly easy to sight in out of the box and is really durable. The rails are great for attachments and the cage itself is light weight.

The illumination on the scope is great, first day out in the snow set on 4 out of 7 the crosshairs were easily visible in full sun. The adjustment knobs are easy to use and are accurate.

The biggest con I have is the weight of the scope itself, while the rails are lightweight the scope is fairly heavy. If you're not looking to add too much weight to your gun, this might not be the scope for you. If you're looking for a place to mount a laser, flashlight, etc. then this is the scope for you.
Pros: Good clarity, easy to sight in, rugged
Cons: Pretty Heavy, the zoom adjustment is hard to turn...

Weighs too much. If you don't mind the weight it is a good value for the money. Love the blue LED.

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on March 7, 2013
Mounted on an AR-15. Like the scope, seems to hold zero, love the illuminated rectical and the fact that you can mount a red dot or whatever on the top or sides. Mounted a red dot on top and it is very accessible when you need it. Love the set up.
Pros: Cheap and easy to mount
Cons: None Yet...
