Nice kit, good price, HEAVY scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on May 18, 2014
This is a VERY cool looking scope that will perfectly match the style of any AR15 or an M&P 15-22. In all honesty, I'm sure that's the #1 reason anybody would purchase this scope, since there are a number of other scopes that share similar features and magnification, for less money, and with a LOT less weight. This is a VERY heavy scope, the heaviest scope of this type I've ever see. When you pick it up, you'll be shocked by how heavy it is, even if you're prepared for it in advance.

Setting aside the weight, the optics are very clear, and the illumination is very bright. It has, I believe, 7 different illumination settings, or you can turn the illumination off. I did notice that the reticle was off by about 5 degrees when I mounted it on the gun. To solve this you have to loosen the housing that surrounds the scope with the picatinny rails, using the Allen wrench provided in the box, then you have to try and adjust it so that it's level. I did notice that the illumination inside the scope is not entirely even. You can tell that the light source is coming from one side and that it isn't distributed evenly, particularly at lower illumination settings. Not a big deal though.

The red dot sight in this kit is very straight forward, and looks nice. It comes with a little rubber cover that's easily removed. If you mount this on top of the scope, it has to be mounted at the forward end of the scope (away from the shooter), where the picatinny rail is longer. I wou...

Great Scope for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IL Written on February 3, 2014
I bought this scope for mounting onto my .22 air rifle. It was fairly easy to sight in out of the box and is really durable. The rails are great for attachments and the cage itself is light weight.

The illumination on the scope is great, first day out in the snow set on 4 out of 7 the crosshairs were easily visible in full sun. The adjustment knobs are easy to use and are accurate.

The biggest con I have is the weight of the scope itself, while the rails are lightweight the scope is fairly heavy. If you're not looking to add too much weight to your gun, this might not be the scope for you. If you're looking for a place to mount a laser, flashlight, etc. then this is the scope for you.
Pros: Good clarity, easy to sight in, rugged
Cons: Pretty Heavy, the zoom adjustment is hard to turn...

Mounted on an AR-15. Like the scope, seems to hold zero, love the illuminated rectical and the fact that you can mount a red dot or whatever on the top or sides. Mounted a red dot on top and it is very accessible when you need it. Love the set up.
Pros: Cheap and easy to mount

Great value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 22, 2012
I want to preface this review by stating that this is my very first scope of any kind. I have never used top of the line scopes so I have nothing to compare this one to. That being said I think you can't do too much better for the money.

I bought this scope to mount on my S&W M&P 15-22 which has very little recoil. After taking it to the range and zeroing it, I put about another 700 rounds through without it losing zero. It was easy enough for a novice like me to zero and it was already "on paper" at 100 yds. I'm not sure how well it would hold zero on a larger caliber rifle but for my 15-22 it is perfect. It was also about as easy as I can imagine to mount it. It was a little heavy but with my rifle coming in at about 5.5lbs, the weight didn't concern me.

The blue illumination was quite bright even on the lowest settings but it was pretty dark out. The illumination may work better on a much brighter day. If you prefer I think the non-illuminated version is about $10 cheaper.

I absolutely love the three integrated rails on this scope. Not only do I think they look really cool, but they also allowed me to mount a red-dot scope. I preferred to mount the red-dot on the side so I could tilt the gun slightly so as to transition quickly to closer target shooting. I found that by mounting the red dot on top, I could not get it sighted in for closer shooting. I could also mount a light or laser sight on the other rails if I should want them later.

I would ha...
