Perfect small caliber option

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on March 12, 2013
After having some grouping issues with the A-2 style sights on my new tactical semi-auto .22 I came across this scope. For the price I had to buy it. When it arrived I was immediately impressed! It was for the price range the most clear optic I have ever purchased. To be honest this scope could compete with scopes many times its price. It fit on the carry top handle perfectly with low profile rings, and eye relief was actually pretty good for being so compact. It tracked how it should doing the box test and was giving me 6 shot groups the size of a nickel at 35 yards. The P4 reticle ranges accurately, the many hash marks make it very fast to shoot with no guess work. The only thing I would have to complain about is having to use a penny or flat head to adjust the turrets. Nothing that would stop me from using this scope though. To sum up this scope is worth far more than the price tag and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
Pros: clear, lightweight, p4 reticle, eye relief, ease of use.
Cons: turrets....

Great scope for the $$$

Made very well and has great eye relief. Put it on my air rifle and it handles all the abuse with no problems. Can't beat the price for what you get.

NcSTAR Compact Rifle Scope - 4x30 Scope / Blue SC430B Riflescope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on March 7, 2013
Good scope for the money. I was surprised that I didn't see any parallax at 100 yds for this price scope. I have noticed some parallax in other ncstar scopes though so maybe I just got lucky.
Pros: compact...

Somewhat disappointed

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on September 18, 2012
This scope is NOT for any gun that kicks. Cannot even use most rings because it it so small. Eye relief is about 2".
It is clear but I can only use it on a .22 I think
Pros: clear optics
Cons: very limited eye relief, cannot mount ...

Good Value, Usabilty for Rimfire Rifles, Airguns

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on February 23, 2012
This is a perfect little scope for airguns and rimfire rifles. I got it for my Daisy but immediately put it on my Henry AR-7 Survival Rifle chambered in 22LR. It comes with see-through lens covers tinted yellow, has a "sniper" style reticule with bullet drop marks, and is easy to sight in. I spent an hour and 50 rounds and can now put a hole in a piece of paper where I want to. I got a pair of mounts that allow me to still use the steel sights if I want. (Another product). It looks good next to the elephant-droppers and is just as useful under 100 yards.
Pros: Cheap, light, bright view, easy to adjust, looks good.
Cons: Makes fellow shooters jealous with their $250 'scopes....

For the Price Can't Be Beat

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 24, 2011
Just got it sighted in on my AR. Looks good, works good.
I would have to break 3 of these before justifying any other compact scope worth getting. It has clear glass and the fixed lens should be able to take the punishment I can dish out. Only flaw I can see is on the very edge coating of the objective lens. It cannot be seen when viewing through the scope.
The only thing that could make it better is finger adjustment knobs.

Pros: Price and size
Cons: Lack of features...

Good cheap scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on October 25, 2010
This is a good scope for its price. It's easy to use. The eye relief takes a little bit to get used to, but it's no problem after a while.
This is a great scope if you have a one-piece mounting base.

Great value for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NH Written on June 12, 2010
I have used many inexpensive scopes, and while this product range has gotten better in recent years, I don't think there is a better value for the money out there than the NC Star fixed power scopes. They seem to be well made, posses a useful P4-type reticule - which I actually like better than the similar, but harder to see, mil-dot type, and have impressively clear optics consider their low cost.

My friends and I have all used this little 4x30 model, and have experienced no issues with them so far. Their small tubes and limited eye relief can be counted against them, but that is something you will have to deal with on any scope of this size IMO. We have used the NC Stars with great effect on .22 rimfires and centerfire Hi Point Carbines. They are an excellent fit for both, and enable good shooting with either type of weapon out to a hundred yards or so.

Sure, there are many good 'budget scopes' out there today, but I have yet to find one that offered the combination of features, practicality, and clear optics for anywhere near the asking price of the NC Star line. While I have been slightly less impressed with their compact variables, I really do like the fixed powers and would like to try out a few more in the future.

Definitely a recommended buy....don't see how one could wrong for the money.

Pros: Useful P4 reticule, inexpensive, impressive optics for the price
Cons: Short eye relief...
