Great while it worked

by Movian, from United States, VA Written on December 7, 2014
Had this for just under 3 months and during that time it worked great, using this with a Remington 700 .270 with Bell and Carlson M40 stock.

however my first one both connecting pins that attach to the stud on the stock broke off this was after about 120 rounds. I contacted NCStar as it was still within their 90 day replacement warranty with no "Handling fee" (Our 90 Day Guarantee: If you purchased your product within the last 90 days then we will waive the $10.00 handling fee.). I spent the $10 on shipping and 2 weeks later received a a brand new unit.

this new unit lasted 2 trips to the range (about 80 rounds (40 rounds each trip)) before it not only had one of the pins break off in the same fashion as the first unit but the turning adjuster that clamps the unit down stripped off and no longer functioned either (this did not happen on the first unit).

making the unit unusable, now while I am sure I could ship this unit back to California (at my cost again for another $10) and they would replace it (unsure if the 90 days would count from my first purchase or when I received this new replacement), I do not wish to spend the extra money to replace a faulty product as I will have paid almost as much again in shipping it as to by a new one from optics planet. I have heard people state that this is a "Harris style knock off bi pod" and that I would have more luck with an actual Harris model, so I will be looking into spending a little extra to get a Harris model.

Good product for money

by Baptistrn, from United States, TN Written on September 7, 2014
Works great comes with adapters. Just had one issue with a pin that broke and company sent new bipod. I like the height of this using it on a 460xvr and didn't want the tilt feature that this one doesn't have. If you're looking for a good inexpensive bipod this is perfect....

Good Bipod for someone starting out

by Movian, from United States, VA Written on July 31, 2014
So I purchased this on a friends recommendation for my Remington 700 ADL. It was easy to attach and as I already had a sling mount I just needed the stock connector that comes attached. It is very easy to attach (although I did manage to put it on backwards the first time till someone pointed that out).

the automatically retracting legs are nice although I would almost pref them to be automatically extending and then manually push back in.

they are extremely stable and well constructed and as a first time shooter I am extremely happy with them....
Pros:
  • Easy to install
  • good construction
  • Automatic leg retractor
Cons:
  • manual leg pull out

Great Bipod

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 7, 2013
This is probably the best Bipod you can buy for the money. NcStar is a great company that makes quality products, you will not be disappointed. It took me about 10 minutes to button it up to my AR. My fault for ignoring the instructions. my only bitch is when the Bipod legs are fully extended, my 30 round Pmag still hits the floor making My AR a little unstable. The 20 round mag works fine with it. Other then that I highly recommend this product to all !
Pros: everything about it...

Rock Solid!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 26, 2012
Mounts solidly to my rifle using rail adapter. Legs are just long enough for bench shooting, but not too long to be in the way of anything else. Extraordinary value from NcStar and Optics Planet.
Pros: Versatile mounting options
Cons: None that I can see....

Functional, but cheap

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on May 10, 2012
I have two Harris bipods that I love, and decided to try out this one for a new rifle because it is almost a quarter of the price of a good Harris bipod with a pivot. The reviews said that the quality and construction was as good as much more expensive bi-pods, but I disagree. The finish looks like a Fischer-Price toy, there is a sticky residue all over the unit from the factory, and (maybe this was just mine) it was not level at minimum height of the legs. In addition, I found the length adjustment mechanism to be very annoying. Usually on bipods with adjustable length, they are spring loaded to extend when you push a button or a catch. This bipod is the opposite - the button/catch retracts (with a LOT of tension) the leg extention into the bipod. So, it's really annoying to extend the legs. There also aren't notches, so you have to eye-ball both of the legs to make sure they're extended to the same length. I had to put the rifle in between my legs, push the catch with one hand, and extend the legs with the other hand. In contrast, you can extend and retract Harris bipods with one hand, and the notches ensure the legs are even length.

Is this bipod worth the $30 I paid for it? Maybe. If it's for an inexpensive plinker, then you'd be OK with this bipod. But it is NOT up to par for a prescision shooter.
Pros: Inexpensive, good length of arms
Cons: Cheaply constructed, no adjustment if not level...
