The scabbard fits the shotguns very well, but its a snug fit which is preferred, but if it was designed a bit larger like 20% with a compression strap or two it could have increased the number of guns it could carry like rifles with bolt handles or shotguns with extra furniture. There is a zipper on the underside of the opening of the scabbard with a strap for extra flexibility, if the same thing was provided on the top side as well, rifles with sites like and M-1 garrand would fit perfectly. Its a good item
