Pros:  Fantastic functionality, night is as bright as day
Cons:  Instructions are military issue; not the best but quite detailed

Usage with weapons- You can't see iron sights and the target as all items have to be in focus. Night Sights can be seen but look like three large orbs that do aim well. From a focus perspective you can not have the front and rear in focus at the same time even on a pistol. Red dots (some) are NVG compatible and can be seen. Depends on the make/model. Cheek welds are difficult with the goggles on. Most aiming with goggles is done by way of an IR laser pointer attached to a rifle or handgun. These can be very pricey but are worth it. If you are on the fence just do it...Optics planet had the best price, by far, I have seen. Definitely worth buying from though there is some export paperwork you will have to fill out. Other sites may sell used goggles where you do not know the hours used.
