NightForce as a company rocks. With this new velocity reticle though, the jury is still out. They push this reticle as great for hunting, but in order to use the reticle at the "yard lines" you MUST be at 10x power. For any type of hunting other than in an open field, I have found that power to be much too high. I made the mistake of trying to do a head shot on a deer at 100 yards with the scope set on 5x power, and needless to say, I missed. After later checking to see just how far off I would be, I found that at 100 yards, I was 6" low! Again, the NightForce company and their product are second to none... let there be no mistake! I'm just not sold yet on this reticle. Further testing is needed. One good thing I found out though, is that for around $120 they can swap out the reticle for another one. It is comforting to know that gambling on a new reticle doesn't have to result in a $1300 paper weight.
