I'm a beginner backyard astronomer/stargazer, and these binoculars were purchased to further that hobby.
I haven't had too much time to use these yet, but even in the limited time I've spent with them, I'm very impressed. I use them in my backyard near downtown Denver mostly, and they make quite a few more stars visible than can normally be seen through the light pollution. I purchased this pair because of the construction, as I plan to use them on camping and hiking trips as well. I can say that I have no doubt that they will stand up to it just fine.
My only complaint is that the included strap is not very well padded, and its somewhat of a pain to install.
Great clarity, wide field of view

I highly recommend these binoculars. Their wide field of view makes you feel like you're looking at things with your unaided eyes. Using these binoculars feels truly luxurious. I use them for watching wildlife. They are somewhat large, but not too heavy, and are manageable slung across my shoulder on long hikes.

The only negative is that 10X50 won't allow focasing within about 10 feet. Whather this is true with all manufacturers or not is unknown to me. Overall I believe the binoclars are a value.
