Lite and Compact Binos for the range

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on May 23, 2011
I got these for the range to use as a spotting scope. They are just right for up to 100 yds as a spottting scope if you have a good rest. I have to rest them on a bench or sandbag for 100 yds, can use elbows for 50yds or less. A good buy as they are small enough and light enough to carry in my range bag.
Pros: Lite, Small, ...

Nikon 8-24*25 Eagleview Zoom DCF Binoculars

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 9, 2010
Very compact and light. Superior optics as expected from Nikon. Easy and quick central focussing knob and zoom lever. Eye relief design is the best I've ever seen. You turn the eye piece rim counterclockwise to extend the eyerelief for viewing by those who do not wear spectacles. You turn it clockwise to retract the eyerelief so it could be viewed by spectacle wearers. This is much better than the rubbery eyerelief you get from other binoculars where you have to unfold or fold the eyerelief. Day time use only. Small 25mm objective lenses struggles to collect enough light to make viewing in low light setting(dawn and dusk) viable especially at higher zoom range. This highly portable compact zoom binocular is perfect for daytime viewing.
Pros: Very compact and light. Superior optics for daytime viewing. Easy to focus and zoom. Perfect eye relief design.
Cons: Very dim image at high zoom range when viewing during dawn or dusk due to its small 25mm objective lenses. Remember this compact binoculars is designed for daytime viewing...

Looking for a zoom binocular ? get this

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 21, 2008
after i made some searches here and there looking for the best zoom binocular with the advantages of light weight and compact sizes i didn't thought that nikon made such magnificent product such this.

if anyone would think about a full zoom high sharp image with vey low weight and ultra compact size i would say go for this one.

the only cons i would say about this product is that it comes without eye piece covers and it's not weather proof.

but anything else is perfect.
i highly recommended it for those intend to use it in dry places or deserts or during sunny days in general.
It was more than I expected.. simply magnificent product.

Pros: very compact, powerful zoom, very light, great design
Cons: no eye piece covers, not anti weather proof....

Zoom binocs

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 6, 2008
These are great little binoculars. Primary use is birdwatching and hiking. I wanted the zoom feature for when I wanted to see a particular feature or bird in more detail.

Please note, zoom on binoculars have the same limitation as zoom on a camera. The available light is reduced, and hand-shake is amplified. As long as you realize the 24x view will be different than the 8x view, you'll be happy.
Pros: Zoom feature great
Cons: Be prepared for the shortfall of zoom...
