Pros: Good magnification to 200 yards Precise elevation and windage reticle calculation
Cons: Difficult to low mount on a Kalashnikov rifle.
Would recommend: yes

Bought my scope for distance Hog hunting with my Saiga 20 inch barrel 7.62x39. Don't want to get too near the critters! Shoots dead-on accuracy at 50 yards, within a 4 inch circle at 100 yards and inside a eight inch circle at 200 yards. Easy and accurate calculation of elevation and windage through the mildot reticle if you know your calibers trajectory. Had to use 1.147" ring height to get minimum clearance to use the stockbutt cheek rest using a Picatinny AK side rail. OpticsPlanet competitive price, free shipping and quick delivery on my purchase,

I guess I was expecting more than I should have. When I compared the scope to my 40 yr old Redfield Widefield, I didn't see much if any difference. That being said I mounted the scope on compact 7mm-08 for my daughter to use. The first time out resulted in an Axis doe with one shot at 175 yds. I can't complain about the results.

Excellent quality scope, great match w/my .308 and Burris extrema tactical rings. EZ mount, set-up and sight-in (on paper first shot). The Nikon hunting website and Spot-On allow you to match ballistics w/ the ammo you are using and the BDC reticle - Cool

Bought this scope for new .243 Browning A-Bolt II. Looked at Leupold and Zeiss in comparable price ranges. Leupold was $160 higher with the same sight. Zeiss not as bright. Stayed with Nikon - very pleased.

Pros: Really clear sight picture with no distortion at the edges,Looks great on my rifle, the cross hairs turn reddish/brown against a dark background, SUPER bright in low light at 2.5 magnifacation.
Cons: The BDC is not quite right for my loads (but it beats nothing), the eye refief is a tad short for my rifle (Ruger Number One Stainless/Laminate)
Would recommend: yes

I don't think you can beat this scope for the money, it's the second Monarch I own and love them both.
Eyes piece should be able to be locked.

While carrying rifle, eyepiece should not be moved. The rifle user is only one person. If eyepiece is moved, he have to adjust eyepiece again when he want to shoot the game. It gives the animal a moment to run. For hunting, I can NOT use this rifle scope without the adhesive that locks eyepiece.
