Great Scope

by bugallou, from United States, KY Written on December 1, 2014
The scope is very clear, the BDC reticle is extremely helpful in long range shooting as the small circles help draw in the target. It has not shown any problems with fogging on cold wet days and I would highly advise any hunter to try this scope....
Pros:
  • Clarity is great
Cons:
  • N/A
Best Used for:
  • Hunting or Target shooting

clear view

by F.J., from United States, IN Written on November 25, 2014
This is without a doubt the absolute best rifle scope I have ever looked through. The crisp clear view is amazing, but,the real impresive part is use in low (I mean very low) light situations. I swear its like lights were turned on,and, the adjustment controls are smooth, definate, and very convienet. Plus caps are included....
Pros:
  • quality, price, warranty

by Hunter, from United States, AR Written on November 24, 2014
I bought a nikon m-308 about a year ago for my remington 700 sps tactical and was very impressed. I bought this nikon monarch 3 for my ruger 22-250 and was not disappointed. For the money it was a good purhase. The clarity of the lense is incredible. Overall a good buy....

Nikon Monarch

by Dietrich, from United States, TX Written on November 5, 2014
I have owned two older monarchs and they seem indestructible. Great scopes. I have used both scopes both in hunting and range so plenty of punishment and w/o issue. Scopes are bright and eye relief is good....
Pros:
  • Good build and quality.
Cons:
  • A little pricey
Best Used for:
  • Hunting and Range

Beautiful Scope

by gdr132, from United States, NJ Written on October 13, 2014
The scope mounted easily on my Remington 700 and zeroing was easy - about 8 - 10 shots did the trick. I have not had the opportunity to shoot long distance with it but at 100 yards the group was about 1/2" - clearly the scope is better than I am. The reticle is very bright even indoors....
Pros:
  • very bright
Cons:
  • Heavy scope
Best Used for:
  • long range shooting

Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 Scope Review

by CPeake, from United States, SC Written on October 3, 2014
This scope has many of the offerings of higher priced scopes. Clear view, low light capability, BDC reticle, really good glass. I use it for deer and varmint hunting on a Sako 85 .308 rifle and it fits the bill very well. I believe this is an underpriced scope and a value for the money. I replaced a Leupold scope with this one, as I was going to use this on another varmint rifle, but after I compared the two, this went on the Sako....
Pros:
  • value for price, holds zero, good glass quality, lighted reticle, adjustable magnification, size efficient, light weight
  • Clear, bright optics
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Deer Hunting
  • Varmint, long distance target

I did a bunch of research on scopes in the power range and I think I had a great purchase. Like all my other
Nikon scopes, this is a great product. I went with the Mil Dot and love it! I put this on my savage trophy hunter xp 308 and out of the box I was hitting at 100 yards - great for me :) My came with factory flip up
covers front and back too!...

Love it!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 11, 2014
Love this scope. Mounted on my Encore in 7mm Rem, and could not be any happier. Vey clear and easy to sight in. Clicks are dead on. Only complaints are the ammo required to practice with and get used to the BDC and the exit pupil that makes you remember to keep it below about 10x at dusk. That being said, the BDC is incredible once you practice/get used to it and at less than 9x I was able to see whitetail deer well many minutes before legal light and after legal light. The side focus is pretty cool and accurately labelled, too. I will say it is brighter than my Bushnell Elites and as bright as my Leupold VX 3 and wasn't as expensive as the later. I might be a Nikon man after this scope.
Pros: Good price for the features.
Cons: BDC takes some practice to get used to....

Awesome Monarch!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, OK Written on October 25, 2013
Purchased monarch 4-16x42 with mildot from optics planet about 8 months ago. The best price out there. Had an issue with shipping at first, but Optics Planet staff were great dealing with and gave an additional discount for my troubles. This scopes works great on my 22-250 weatherby. Best scope in my safe.
Pros: Clarity, craftsmanship, etc...
Cons: none...
