Cons:  none, really.

You will not find a better scope with this magnification in the $4-500 range. I have this mounted on a savage model 10 in 223, and it helps me shoot 1/8" MOA. The side focus is nice, I love the mid-height turrets. The glass is unreal at this price point. Compared side by side at the range with a Leupold VIII 4.5-14, the Leupold is SLIGHTLY clearer, but costs a heckuva lot more than this Nikon. Great scope at a fantastic price. I see more Nikon Monarchs in my future...

Cons:  1 inch tube
Would recommend:  yes

This is a top of the line scope, you can't beat it for the money. I was a choice between this and a Bushnell Elite, this won because of the eye relief. This scope can match up to those costing hundreds more.
