Surprised yet not

by Monkeee, from United States, TX Written on March 25, 2015
I kinda stick to certain brands. And being new to the "civilian" world of firearms, I decided since I have such great Nikon products already, why not give this a go. I was pretty surprised at how easy installation, center, and sighting this thing was. It may not be sniper material, but it is fun for the general basics, and then some. It fits a little low, so a riser may be needed for some model rifles. But other than that I am thoroughly enjoying this fine scope. Thanks Nikon. Another great product....

Great scope. I put this on my Mini-14 and it works great. I plan on buying another one for another rifle. OpticsPlanet.com had great turn around on the product and I plan on buying from them in the future....

NIKON BDC P-223

by Chuck, from United States, TN Written on March 23, 2015
Great scope for the value and fits well on my AR platform. I like the length of the optic and it leaves room for other attachments. The magnification power is adequate for short to medium range target shooting. Easy to operate and mount. The scope seems like a solid piece of equipment for the budget minded....
Pros:
  • good optics
  • Good fit
Cons:
  • None

Nilon P-223

by Bruce Bowers, from United States, TX Written on January 30, 2015
These scopes are so much worth their cost. I recommend Nikon across the board to everyone. For me, they represent the best by far cost-per-product for the money of any scope available from any maker. Don't be fooled by the cost because you get so much more per dollar from Nikon. I only buy Nikon now. The best!!!...
Pros:
  • Everything is included
Cons:
  • nothing to say
Best Used for:
  • anything you would use a rifle for

Excellent budget minded optic

by Tom, from United States, IL Written on January 22, 2015
Bought this during a sale and couldnt beat the price. Bench rested and sighted in I can easily shoot 1.5 moa with my 20" varmit gun and Federal ammo at 100 yards. Only complaint is that with the 1 inch rings it sits very close to the rail making snap shooting hard but not impossible ( I use the Blackhawk mid height rings) . I compete with it in local practical matches at varying ranges and after some time to get use to the BDC feature it became very easy to transition between ranges. Overall would recommend...

Nice little scope

by Snake, from United States, TN Written on January 20, 2015
Great little scope. Crystal clear optics. The reason I gave it a 4 is that being a 3x I don't see how you you would be able to see enough detail at 400 and 600 yds to use the BDC as stated. Even at 150yds the reticle lines obscure the bullseye (but that may be me).
BTW Burris PEPR mounts will not work (scope tube too short). Also the Butler Creek flip up covers for this scope are the 11 for eye and 15 for objective....

great price great optic

by Steve, from United States, AL Written on January 17, 2015
great glass for the price and its a perfect size and a good weight for the ar platform. Nikon is the best optics for your dollar period. This scope could definitely stand proudly beside fixed optics in the $500-$600 range....

Great for intermediate learners

by James, from United States, TX Written on December 23, 2014
I am just acquiring the long distance shooting/designated marksman skill and being a 5.56mm shooter this scope and mount set up is perfect. I can set my zero for 200m and with just a click I can target out to 400m 600m and so on, if I am moving from target to target at different ranges at faster intervals no need to click, I just use my BDC reticle through the scope. Excellent buy for someone like me who has been shooting for years and is very familiar with with the traditional 5.56/AR platform but is just getting into the long distance aspect of shooting....
Pros:
  • Ease of use and accuracy
  • Easy set-up
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Designated marksmanship

Great Scope for my Ar 15

by NKY Basser, from United States, KY Written on October 30, 2014
Optics Planet was quick to delver and service was great.

The scope is a perfect fit for my Colt 1516. Took four rounds to sight in. After that I was putting them in a half dollar bulls eye at 100 yards. Eye relief is just what I was looking as not to be to close to charging handle and recoil.

Nikon glass is clear and sights are easy to use. Thought about going to a 3x9 scope but where am I going to shoot over 200 yards. Nikon has been making optics for years and it shows in the quality of the scope....
Pros:
  • Nikon reputation for optics
  • Nikon, zero adjustable turrets,
Cons:
  • None what so ever

Good inexpensive glass

by Jonathan, from United States, NC Written on October 29, 2014
Bought this rifle as an inexpensive optic for my wife's AR-15. She'd primarily shot hunting rifles in the past so it was more natural for her than a red dot or reflex type sight. It's very clear and good quality for the price. She's able to shoot it just fine and I like that you can set your zero anywhere you want....
