Excellent performance at an excellent price point.

I was given the Prostaff 5 3.5-14x40 BDC Silver for my birthday last year. I put it on a Mossberg 4x4 Marinecoat(stainless corrosion resistant type finish) Laminate stock model chambered in 30-06 Springfield, and its a deadly combination. The scope matches the rifle well. It holds its zero VERY well and the magnification range is unreal for the price. The clarity of this scope really is awesome too. Looks just as nice as any 600-700 dollar leupold I've ever looked through, but everyone's eyes are different. In my honest opinion you really cannot go wrong with this one. I highly recommend it....

Nikon PROSTAFF 5 Riflescope - 3.5-14X40 - silver

Best entry level "Silver" long-range scope for the money to go with new stainless rifle.

Optics are bright which is what I expected from Nikon. The Spring-Loaded Zero-Reset turrets are very easy to use and I find it very helpful.

One of the features that attracted me to this scope is the "Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology". I have not yet configured this for my new 6.5x55mm SE but this scope provides you the capability to match it exactly to your rifle especially for those interested in long-range target shooting / hunting....
Pros:
  • Nikon reputation for optics
  • Spring-Loaded Zero-Reset turrets
  • Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology
Cons:
  • None

Second one

Absolutely worth the money. I now have two and am completely satisfied with this scope. Thank you Optics Planet for a great deal! I initially went to Optics Planet when looking for the lowest price. When searching here a banner came up and said I can speak with a rep to get a lower price. I checked the box and came out with a lower price than advertised. Thanks again....

Great Scope for Price

Great scope. Packaged nicely. Only thing I noticed was the parralax knob was a little stiff at first, but it has loosened up nicely and now all moving parts feel great. Positive adjustments. Tracks well, good clarity and light. Would be nice if it came with a shade. I've compared it with a few other scopes including an older bushmaster and this scope is brighter than most.

You can't go wrong with this scope and nikons spot on shooting database is great for estimations. Nothing can beat range time and good notes but it does help.
Pros: Price, features, clarity, light
Cons: None so dad...
