Great Scope

by dnicol70, from United States, KY Written on January 8, 2015
I was very please, not only with the scope, by with how quickly Optics Planet shipped it to me. I've been buying from Optics Planet for years, and have exactly zero complaints.

The Nikon Prostaff Rimfire Riflescope itself seems extremely solid and durable. I purchased this as a gift for my son, who shoots rimfire competitions....

good scope

by bradley, from United States, TX Written on December 31, 2014
Good, clear scope for the money, like every Nikon I have used. Have not had time to try the BDC rings out to long distances, but they should be easy to get on target using their webiste. It lists tons of different bullets, so it was easy to find the ones that I commonly use and figure out where each ring will hit....
Pros:
  • easy to use
Cons:
  • only goes up to 9 power

Nikon Prostaff Rimfire Riflescope - 3-9x40mm w/ BDC 150 Reticle

by Doug, from United States, TX Written on December 30, 2014
This is an outstanding scope. Great quality, easy to use. I sighted it in yesterday on my Ruger 10-22 Takedown model and the first round was centered but low. Three rounds later I'm in the black. Took the scope off the rifle, put it back on and it's still in the bullseye. Very clear, parallax is set for 50 yds, which is as far as I want to shoot a 22. I haven't tried the BDC feature yet as I was only at a 25 to 50 yard range. But the Nikon Spot-on program on line will calculate ranges based on bullet type and other factors.
It's a great product and if I need another scope for another 22 rifle this is the one I'll buy....
Pros:
  • Clear, bright optics
Cons:
  • None

Great optic

by Josh, from United States, IN Written on December 21, 2014
I purchased this Nikon scope to go on top of a Savage Mark II FV-SR. I mounted on some Leupold medium height rings and so far it's been an awesome optic for this rifle. Scope is very clear even with some sun glare. First range trip I sighted in at 50 and first round was surprisingly only about 2" low. A quick adjustment and it was on the money. 2nd trip was today and I went straight to 200 yards today, adjusted for 43" of drop as what Nikon Spot On recommended and was hitting low, adjusted up another 7 clicks for 50 total from original zero and it was tearing it up at 200 yards. Best group was about 2 inches shooting off a bipod with bulk (M22) ammo. Another great Nikon purchase! Was a great deal when purchased after Thanksgiving!...
Pros:
  • Clear
  • budget friendly
  • Consistent
  • Re-Zeroing Turrets
  • Easy adjustments
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Anything on a .22!

Nikon Prostaff Rimfire Riflescope - 3-9x40mm

by spuddybuddy, from United States, ID Written on December 20, 2014
Best price and scope for price. Clear and accurate. Bullet Drop Compensator is fantastic. once you use this other scopes seem inferior. . Normally need to use a higher mount to co withness 22lr so you don't have to remove rear sight. I have bought 2 from optic planet. One for a ruger 22 American magnum and one for ruger 22lr rimfire. both are Bolt action. Fits fantastic on American Ruger series. Can't beat price anywhere. plus free shipping??? Buy a couple....
