Nikon ProStaff 3-9 Target EFR scope

by FClasser, from United States, CA Written on March 21, 2015
I mounted this scope on my Ruger rimfire. Very clear and focuses to 10 yds. Adjustments are accurate and nice clicks. My shooting buddy looked through the scope and immediately asked me where I got this scope and how much. I told him and he ordered one for himself to put on his rimfire rifle....
Pros:
  • very clear, light weight, maintains zero
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • rimfire

great scope

by Drilldoc, from United States, CA Written on September 4, 2014
I bought this to put on my 50th Anniversary Ruger 10-22 heavy barrel target model, which I hope will someday be a family treasure. I looked at other great scopes in Optic Planet, but this had the best quality, the most features, and the best service as I used the chat line to finalize my decision. The sales person and the technical consultant were both great in helping pick out the scope and the appropriate rings. None of the other scopes intended for .22s had target turrets which clinched the decision. I wrestled with the decision for several days and I appreciate the customer service from Optic Planet. Everything arrived in perfect condition and I am looking forward to shooting the rifle when I pick it up from the gunsmith tomorrow. I have another Nikon on my other 10-22 and I have found them to be clear, reliable and a super value....
Pros:
  • Adjustments
Cons:
  • None

Excellent Choice for Precision 22LR Bolt Rifle

by CT, from United States, TN Written on July 26, 2014
I considered many alternatives for an accurate 22LR bolt gun and am very pleased that I decided to purchase the Nikon. This is ideal for rimfire because the objective is adjustable which means that you can eliminate parallax for the closer ranges like 25 or 50 yards... which is not available on many other 3-9 scopes and may cause significant parallax error at close ranges when shooting for accuracy.

Also, in the daylight it is almost impossible to see a difference in the quality of the glass from other scopes that I have that cost more than double. I really appreciate the target reticle as it is fast and clean. The build quality is exceptional and the rubberized power selector is tactile and smooth. Excellent choice, I don't think you could do better for a rimfire or precision air gun!...
Pros:
  • Adjustable Objective
  • Excellent Glass
  • Size and Weight
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Precision 22LR

More then I expected

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, FL Written on May 19, 2014
This is sitting on top of a Savage MkII SR and it's perfect for shooting out to 100yards with it. The elevation adjustment is repeatable and with the 6-7 inch drop of the 22LR @100yards, it works great. The crosshairs / dot work great for target shooting.
Pros: Adjustable objective / 3-9x perfect for target rifle
Cons: None for my use...

Scope for a Savage Mark 2 w/ accutrigger

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 22, 2013
I had never put this kind of money in a .22 scope before but decided it was time due to the squirrel infestation of my fruit trees. It has turned out to be a very usable gun and scope combination. The ten yard parallax and 9 power is perfect for small game in my area. Over 100 squirrels so far, all head shots. Highly recommend using a benchrest to sight in this scope. Also find the ammo manufacturer that best shoots in your gun. And if the gun is new, get it broke in. This scope with a benchrest will show up the problems with the gun or ammo, but once you get it worked out, you will have an incredibly accurate gun.
Pros: Ten yard parallax, 9 power, the zero reset turrents, and bright light
Cons: I would prefer metal on the crosshair caps but have had no problem with the plastic....
