I purchased this scope because it was on sale and I needed a low price, good name scope to mount on my CVA Optima for deer hunting. I have a Nikon Monarch on my bolt gun and I really like the clarity of the optics, so I bought this scope....

Great scope for the price

by Brunobear, from United States, MA Written on February 12, 2015
I have this on a M77 Ruger in 223 Bull Barrel and i purchased it in the silver 3x9 40 and i used the Ruger rings. Just a great scope, great adjustment and fit/ finish is great. On the silver matte, just be careful as it can scratch easier than other finishes....

Clear optics, fogs up

by Paul, from United States, GA Written on January 19, 2015
I purchased this scope because it was on sale and I needed a low price, good name scope to mount on my AR for deer hunting. I have a 6x18 Nikon Buckmaster on my bolt gun and I really like the clarity of the optics, so I bought this scope. This scope also has clear optics but I had problems with fogging on several occasions. However this did not stop me from shooting a deer in low light conditions in the evening. I think this is a good scope for dry conditions without much temperature change, but it fogs up when used in the cool and often damp conditions you encounter in deer hunting. Maybe I just got a defective one....

Nikon 3-9x40 Prostaff Rifle Scope w/BDC reticle

by Captjack, from United States, NC Written on December 27, 2014
Great scope, best buy for the money, clear, good light transmission, I got this scope for my 277 WLV AR. This scope replaced another that I could not zero on the rifle. After initial bore sighting the scope was sited it in at 100yds in 5 shots, accurate 1/4 inch clicks. This is the second Nikon Prostaff scope I have purchased....

Nikon Scope

by Andrew, from United States, TX Written on November 29, 2014
I bought this scope to use on my .308 Ruger Scout. It looks neat when I looked down range with it on the long eye relief. The price was great on the scope and this is the 2nd Nikon Scope I have bought from Optics Planet. The Staff was really helpful on getting me set up the tactical Burris Scope rings for the 1" tube. No Pros and Cons yet, I am needing to zero it in....

Nikon 3-9x40 Prostaff Rifle Scope review

by SRDGA, from United States, GA Written on October 16, 2014
I am setting up a 17 WMR heavy barrel using this scope. This is the second Nikon scope I have purchased. Solid performer, especially for the price! Since I am using it for a rim fire rifle and generally making sub-two hundred yard shots, these Prostaff level scope optics are perfectly fine. I did compare this scope against the Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 rifle scope optics and frankly the Monarch, with the multi-coated optics, is "clearer" but I am not making shots that far so it did not warrant the added expense especially since I am putting it on a not too costly rim fire rifle. Both great scopes!...
